Re: Circles?
Has Jack matured already and how old is Isobelle? If they are together, and mature, they will have already mated. If this is the case, then you have the option of an emergency spey for Isobelle, which will terminate the pregnancy. If you decide to do this, then it will need to be soon.
Re: Circles?
Jack isn't a baby, he's a year old. Isobelle is 8 months but they haven't been together at al. Jack came and went straight in his hutch, isobelle lives in the kitchen. We don't let jack out untill isobelle is in her cage and we're really careful... I screamed the house down, and my husband walked out and came back a few hours and said he was irrational and just hated to see me upset.

Re: Circles?
Well that's a good start. You shouldn't bring these buns together until they are both neutered, hormomes will interrupt the bonding process and you may end up with 2 buns living seperately, permanently.
They will need 4-6 weeks after Isobelle has been speyed before an introduction, as they will still have latent hormones in their systems.

Re: Circles?
Bless, your husband has tried to do what he thought was right without thinking it through. Yeah males can stay fertile for 4-6 weeks after being castrated to it is essential you keep them apart til this period has passed. X
Re: Circles?

Can't wait untill the first, i'll have to stock up on tasty treats to try and gain his forgivness...can't see us beingin the good books pmsl. x

Re: Circles?
He just needs hay, grass, veggies and supplementary pellets. I'd think about saving the money that shop bought treats cost an putting it towards their neuterings. These treats are unnecessary, expensive and they won't love you any more for giving them to them. In excess, these foods cause digestive problems. If you have blackberry bushes near you or in your garden, feed leaves and stems, and fresh grass if you have it. Although we think of these animals as pets, domestic rabbits are no different to wild ones in their needs, including dietary ones.

Re: Circles?
Jay has raised a good point. I used to buy daisy tons of treats but now I get him more natural free treats and he loves them more.
Pear leaves, blackberry leaves, fresh grass, willow & pear branches. He loves them loads more than he ever loved his treats. They are much better for him and they are free....so he's happier and healthier and im better off!

Luna was spayed first in my case, then I got Thistle (before I had him castrated)...whenever they met - even though she was spayed...he'd drive her up the bend and it took her months for her hormones to calm down...& only after he was castrated did they finally fall in love! Isabelle could get very territorial if she isn't spayed, you really have to take this slowly and carefully. Either of them could get seriously hurt or she could become pregnant if anything goes wrong.

Re: Circles?
Hope all goes well with the neutering and bonding process lexybee91.
As for the treats issue - i wont feed mine shop bought treats (unless it's hay cakes - but be prepared for the mess! Lol) . I dont know what goes into them - i'm sure some treats really arent suitable. I've heard people use a mix like rabbit royale to scatter for a treat. I use loo rolls stuffed with hay and a pellet or 3 in the middle and i also make my own bunny biccies with ground pellets, grated carrot or mashed banana, some water to bind and some porridge oats to help roll them out.
Then i squish the mix, roll it and cut them out (i have heart and bunny cutters ) and then i bake them for a few hours on a low heat. Once they are crispy and there's no moisture in them, i turn the oven off leaving the biccies in the oven to cool. It's best to store them in a paper bag.
Be warned - it takes hours - a nice excuse to order pizza instead of cooking!!

Re: Circles?
Did someone say biscuits?! Grin I would be eternally grateful for a proper recipe so I can give these a go! Just read your post to my Ruby roo and she says she would LOVE to try them! What sort of quantities of stuff would I need to use, or is it more guess work til the mix feels right?

Re: Circles?
I never weigh or measure anything so it is guess work - i ony really use the porridge oats for consistency and to help roll the mix. The rabbits absolutely love them and go nuts for them.
I'm due to make a batch soon and i'll take pics then.

Re: Circles?
Here's another one but i havent tried it:
4 weetabix
2 slices of wholemeal bread
10 blackberries
Handful of blueberries
Whizz together in a food processor until it forms a dough then roll into small balls.
Place on greaseproof paper and bake at around 200 degrees for about 30 mins until rock hard.
Store in an airtight container.
Makes 20.
And here's a good website with another one on and toy ideas:
