Miserable day
Took 6 bunnies to the vet today for check ups, the good news is that Kate is fine and can now be rehomed but sadly not such good news for two of the others
Kate
George has a bladder tumour, this was probably form the EC that was left untreated before he was rescued, he has bouts of unrinary incontinance but has got a lot worse lately, hopefully the treatment he is on will work.
George
Dougal has a tumour in his arm pit, it's grown a lot quite quickly and now is the size of a plum, unfortuantely as he is 9 years old Paula is reluntant to operate because she feels that giving him a GA now would not be a good idea, he is bright and still very active so unless it ulcerates or impedes his movement then we are going to leave alone for now, he is on treatment and will be closely monitored
Dougal
So it's not been a good day

Re: Miserable day
Oh Theo The saving grace is that these bunnies are thankfully in your care. Lets hope that they stay as well as possible for as long as possible.
Good news for Kate though, at least that is something.

I know, but it always makes me feel so useless, I just want to get them better and there isn't much I can do

Re: Miserable day
Oh Theo Im so sorry I cant pretend I know what its like to be faced with such problems like this all the time, all i can think of is when PB was poorly, i just thought "Im glad I have him, problems and all, someone else might not have noticed".
These buns would have these situations regardless or not even be here right now, but at least you are there to give them what they need, other bunnies are not as lucky as these.
I hope that made sense. and I hope you are okay. x

Exactly what I was going to say. These buns are lucky that their problems are monitored by you and a vet and when things get too much, the appropriate course of action will be taken. They won't be left to suffer and struggle on with an ailment that is receiving no care. Hope this is some consolation to you.
