He's at it again. U/D Its Back - Abscess
Theres something wrong with the boy, and Im worried its because his poorly throat has come back.
He has a dribbly patch under his chin and he has stopped eating his hay over the last week or so. At first I thought he was being fussy so started a new bag, but he still isnt eating it. On top of that he just isnt interested in being very social and is being quite sulky.
I know that these are only small changes but my gut is telling me something isnt quite right. I may be being paranoid but I dont want to leave it until he stops eating altogether to find out something is wrong. He only had his teeth done 5 weeks ago so I dont think its them, but there is def a fair bit of drible going on.
So Im going to call in sick and take him to see Mr Chitty on Thursday.

Oh no - there's a lot of it about at the mo You 're right to respond to these changes, it's the only way they can tell us that something's not right. Calming vibes for you and healing ones for the boy

Oh no, hope he is OK and it's not serious, can you get to see John before Thursday?

I'd be the same Katie, I'm an awful worrier so when the slightest thing isn't right my gut starts telling me something is wrong. It is best to get him checked, even if it is just to put your mind at rest because he's simply being fussy.
Vibes and nose rubs for cheeky Daisy and hugs for you. xx

Re: He's at it again. U/D Its Back - Abscess
thanks everyone.
Im feeling really calm about it this time, I feel more prepared to cope with him now as I know what to do and how to take care of him.
It was such a long slog getting him better, that I am worried its returned, but I do feel better placed to look after him, and better placed to spot the signs if something is wrong. I really hope that its not his throat, I really do. Bless him, the poor little guy was so happy.
He is eating fresh herbs and plantain, and managed half of his nuggies and Ill ring Mr C if I get worried between now and then.
I am just so lucky that I can call upon Mr C to look at him.

Oh no Katie, so sorry to hear this . I'm sure your instincts are right, when they aren't acting themselves like Thistle the other day it does seem there is something wrong. Nose rubs and best wishes that everything turns out okay xxxx

What a worry for you Katie. I know that when Wolfie was a bit off colour the other week, it was the little things that you notice and you just know that something isn't right. Fingers crossed for something minor and that he's back to his bad old self soon. xx

Ah at least he is still eating his favourite foods. When Josephine is in pain the first food to go is hay, she'll still each herbs and veggies and treats. Sending vibes for little Daisy, let us know what Dr. Chitty says xx

Re: He's at it again. U/D Its Back - Abscess
Well we arer back.
Mr C couldnt see anything obvious but we are on Septrin and Pain releif for two weeks and see how it goes. Its possible his throat is back which is why we are taking precautions with the abx.
As every Mr C was brilliant and Daisy (as he always is with mr C) was the model patient.
I have to ring on saturday with an update.
Healthy Throat vibes gratefully received.

Re: He's at it again. U/D Its Back - Abscess
Well he went gradually down hill yesterday, runny nose, lethargic, really didnt want to eat. This morning his poo's are really tiny - here comes stasis.
Ive spoken to Mr C, who wants to see him tomorrow morning and is going to knock him out and give him some xrays. Im getting worried now.
The good news is that he takes the septrin straight from the syringe so we dont have to stress him by grabbing him.
I have to go to work now, but will pop home at lunch to check on him.
