Well, we survived the summer of myxi doom!
The weather here is starting to cool down. Daylight savings ended a month ago, and our "warm" days are around 25-26 degrees, most of the time it is cooler and the mozzies seem to be in retreat!
I am so glad that I have managed to survive the summer without either of my two getting myxo. Thousands of rabbits have caught it with a massive influx of mosquitos this summer, but my two have survived! (so far *touch wood*).
I actually went to the vet last week for Josephine's dental check up and she looked really concerned when I walked in. "I didn't realise I was seeing a rabbit today, is this an emergency visit?" I said no - it was booked ages ago, it's just for a dental check up and she visibly relaxed. She told me she'd seen at least 2 buns a day with myxo over the peak in summer and it was really getting to her. I explained mine were inside and have been severely limited in their outside time this summer to avoid the mozzies.
Anyway, I am cautiously celebrating protecting my two and keeping them alive today
