New Bunny C&C Cage - feedback!
Okay,
So I'm not getting my buns for another 5 weeks, 1 day..and counting, but I like to be prepared and although I have now realised I need to extend my cage in order to separate them when they are healing from their spay & neutering, I thought I'd post up my cage attempt and what I hope it will be like when they can finally live together properly! They will probably have the run of the room that the cage is in when we are out, so really this is just theirs for eating, sleeping, & going to the toilet!
I'd love some feedback and whether I need to make it bigger, and how much bigger in order to divide it up so they both have adequate space.
I will also be adding a lid for the separation!
(hope that works)
Thanks

Re: New Bunny C&C Cage - update!
Looks Fabulous.
If it were me I would make both sides equal and then split it equally in half and minimise the sleeping area to make maximum use of the space. Its up to you how much more space you add, the more space the better but this looks really fab.
Its difficult to tell from the picture how big it is - what are the measurements hun??

Re: New Bunny C&C Cage - update!
I think these cages are such a good option for house buns. Here's what ElleyMay did with hers https://happyhoppers.forumotion.co.uk/t7041-unveiling-of-the-play-bunny-mansion-pic-heavy
They'll just need a cardboard box each to sleep/hide in, litter and water, & the rest can be free space. They should have enough room to make at least 3 hops, stretch out and stand up fully, and run around like a loony

Wow ElleyMay's is amazing! I'd love to be able to make mine that big! But as the room is also housing a table and chairs at the mo I don't think I can extend it that much!
The dimensions are 108cm x 144cm (one side) 72cm x 108cm (the other side)
I think I will make it squarer so bringing out the shorter side so it will then be equal for both bunnys when they are apart, and then give them both equal time outside of the cage.
Should I create another upper level to mirror the other one, or take it down completely whilst they are separated do you think?
Thanks!

Re: New Bunny C&C Cage - update!
I like getting creative and then seeing what they respond to. Buns are all different, and you could have a magnificent space, but they'll just play in one corner You'll understand this when they arrive.
With CC cages, you can adapt to them. When they first arrive, I would consider having less room initially, then build it up over time, that way you keep them interested and stimulated, rather than throwing it all at them at once

Re: New Bunny C&C Cage - update!
Thank you I'm in the middle of dismantling it at the mo though to prepare it for the bunnies living separately until they've been fixed!
I'm thinking of adding a pen to each side to extend out their own space for during the day.

Re: New Bunny C&C Cage - update!
Here are some pics of my modified cage!
Closed - removed upper level ready for the separation, extended corner out and added a top shelf which will connect to a lid.
Door extends out to make the space bigger for when we aren't in.
Whilst in the process of neutering i will put a divide down the middle. Reason why here are two litter boxes too lol
hope these will be okay for them! only 1 more month till i can bring my babies home
