Noisey tummy!!!! U/D Fibreplex
Do any of your buns have a noisey tummy?
I've noticed over the last few weeks, whenever Thumper is eating or drinking - what a racket!
I think this is new, but can't be certain.

When Luna drinks, but only from her bowl not when it's from a bottle...her tummy squeaks! But it's always happened ever since she was spayed However, when it happened to Thistle it was because he had a gassy tummy and was uncomfortable because of it. May be worth a trip or phone call to the vets for you just to double check it's nothing

Oh! I told a lie! Right enough, she has always had a squeak when drinking from the drip tray under the bottle!
But I'm sure the rumble when eating is new. Poor baby, she's just falling apart Maybe a call to the vet is in order!

Lil Loll gurgles like a guddun when he's drinking from his bowl. The only other noisy bun I've had was the big gal herself, Clawed. I swear she had a family of borrowers in her tum. She was prone to cholic though and I had to keep a close ear open!

She seems absolutely fine. Running around like a mad thing earlier and having a snooze just now.
I think I'll just keep an eye on her, she's eating fine and pooping fine too. No signs of discomfort either.
First signs of discomfort or slowing of eating/pooping then we're off to the vet!

Marshall makes squeaking noises when he drinks from a bowl, so does sheamus and Darren used too as well so im pretty sure drinking squeaks are normal. However, may be good to take a vet visit just incase, and to put your mind at ease.

Re: Noisey tummy!!!! U/D Fibreplex
I know I should take her. But to be honest, I'm scared about what they might tell me Last time I was there they found her mammary tumor, she's 10+ years and I hate to say it and it breaks my heart every day, but I know she's on borrowed time
My logic was, that so long as she seems happy enough and eating/pooping, then leave her be to enjoy what time she has left. One minute she's running round and I think she's got so much life in her, then another i don't think she'll see the end of the week.
It such a hard call to make because I don't think they'd be keen to treat her for fear of making things worse.
Rock, meet hard place
if you think I'm being stupid then just say so. I'd appreciate your honesty

Found this by Googling. It suggests trying Infacol to break up gas bubbles in the first instance, but that it might need further investigation. It also suggests looking at what the rabbit is eating in case this is the cause.
You could try ringing your vet for advice but maybe a check up would put your mind at rest. I can understand your being wary about taking her because of her age.

I know a lot of people do use Infacol because it contains an ingredient that breaks up the gas and helps the bunny to pass it.

Re: Noisey tummy!!!! U/D Fibreplex
A trip to the vet might not be too bad... at 10, even with the tumour, the gurgles might just indicate a minor dietry/digestive thing which an adjustment to diet might help. In which case the vet should be able to advise. Clawed's cholic issues were solved by excluding all greens from her diet. She only ate wild foods (plus burgess) from 7yrs on.
I don't think you're being stupid.... just showing the natural fears of a loving carer.

Re: Noisey tummy!!!! U/D Fibreplex
Some bunnies tummies do make noises when they are drinking or eating but it can be a sign of something else like gas, our Nethie Chudleigh Flint often get's bloat and his tummy becomes very noisey.
If in doubt I would just let the vet have a little look.
Our vet told us not to use Infacol as she said it just doesn't do any good at all so we stopped using it

Re: Noisey tummy!!!! U/D Fibreplex
I called the vet today and I didn't have to take her in but he kindly left some Fibreplex out for me to collect.
I've to give her it twice a day for 2-3 days. The receptionist said we have been given it before but waaaaay back in 2006.
Have you guys got any experience with it?
I hope it sorts her out!
Thanks for encouraging me to phone them
