Tummy Noises Empty Tummy Noises

Post by Kirsty&Lola Thu Jul 03, 2008 3:46 pm

Lola has always had quite a loud tummy. After drinking water i can hear the gurgling from the living room when shes in the kitchen. Is this anything to be worried about/get checked by the vet? She eats, poops, wees fine, i just wanted to see what you guys thought

It's something that some bunnies seem to do and others don't, if it's only when she is drinking then it's nothing to worry about but if it starts to happen continually for no obvious reason it may be worth getting her checked over.

It's normal for the GI tract to make some noise pertaining to digestion although most commonly this is not audible without a stethascope. However a noisey tummy along with some stasis type symptoms could indicate some trapped gas in the tract which would be uncomfortable.

When Caspian was unwell he had the noisiest stomach I have ever heard, it was always gurgling away even when he was off his food Sad

Charlie used to do this all the time. I would imagine, as Sooz said, that if he's doing it every day then it's probably "just the way he is"... it's a sweet noise though isn't it Embarassed

Laughing Sometimes I hear the water swooshing and gurgling into my bun's tummies as they're drinking, it sounds very strange, especially when they drink loads!!
