Skippy off to vet tomorrow

I noticed this morning that his left eye looked watery, and he let me pick him up too which is unusual. I thought it could be teeth-related, but then discovered an abcess-type lump next to his ear, like a large marble.

Needless to say we are off to vets tomorrow. I was supposed to be going to hospital for a foot xray, but that can wait, as naturally my Skippys health and welfare comes first. I will get looks and comments at work about it, but I know you lot know exactly where im coming from!!

What time hun? I will take him for you if you want to get your foot x rayed? X

Please let us know how he gets on sweets, I will be thinking of you both.

Corrina must be in bed with her coco and a Catherine Cookson. She is ringing up for an appointment for Skippy in the morning. Will make sure one of us lets you know how he gets on. He is such a lovely bun. He has been in Starbucks in Corrinas hand bag before now when he went to the vets once and the bus was late going home!

You were quite right Charlotte, I was tucked up with one of my historical romances, and the only thing steamy was my bedtime cocoa!

Little Skippy was 13 weeks old when he sat in my handbag in Starbucks! A sign on the door said "guide dogs only", but nothing about rabbits, so I thought if anyone objects I shall say he is a guide rabbit.

Please let us know what the vet said. More loving vibes on their way.

Keep us updated about Skippy! I love that he has been to Starbucks-his adventures are almost as great as Fudge!

Skippy is home. His teeth are fine, the lump is just a swelling for now but could become an abcess. He has a course of antibiotics and will be returning for a review in 10 days, vet says he doesnt want to operate at this stage as it would affect ear cartlidge etc. So good news so far!!

Thank you everyone for your good wishes! Fudgesmum - I shall go for xray on wednesday now, and yes - my buns quite like to go on adventure every now and again like Fudge does!!

Have nabbed Parsley and put him in with Skip for company while he's on abx. They're usually free-range but he will suss out that I am chasing him with a syringe on a daily basis, and start evading capture. So easier to keep them contained. Poor Parsley looks so confused, but meanwhile Hazel and Pepper think they are Ronnie and Reggie Kray of the back garden, with the big guys out of the way!!

I had a Benny Hill moment there Just imagining you going round the garden with a huge hypodermich needle and Skip getting out of you way. (but no scantily clad women or a wee man with a baldie heid!)

Thumper has had an abcess under her ear for a fair few years and it's never bothered her or gotten any bigger.

If skippys does turn into an abcess hopefully it will be the same and not cause any problems

Ohh Just seen this! Hows little Skippy doing now? XX

Not enjoying his medicine which is septrin (paediatric), therefore banana-flavoured! Parsley is very impressed however, and keeps running after him to clean any spare drips from off skippys face and whiskers!! The lumps still there for now, but we are back at vets next week for review, so shall report further.

Becki, I hear you me and Charlotte are bunking up together at HH meet! It will be fun!!
