vibes for skippy please
he had a really big sneezing fit i rushed over to help him and calm him down and i wiped his nose and got out a really gooey clump almost like rubbery glue
he has not sneezed since but am keeping an eye on him, i also have changed his bedding from wood shavings to straw a i feel that could be contributory to the sneezing fit

Re: vibes for skippy please
We never use sawdust or shavings for that reason they give off a fine dust that irrates the rabbit's and can cause respiratory problems or make respiratory problems worse.
Is it a thick white discharge from the nose Rob and have you noticed him sneezing before?
I think if he still sneezes today and there is anymore discharge from the nose I'd get him in at the vet's for a check up to be on the safe side
Sending lots of Vibes for Skippy xxxxxx

Oh that's good if you have not heard him sneeze anymore, if he sneezes again and get's a thick discharge with it I would take him to the vet's as he could be starting with an upper respiratory infection Rob and the vet will need to do a culture and sensitivity test and put Skippy on the right antibiotics.
Fondant looking nasal discharge worries me.

Re: vibes for skippy please
I agree with Maysie Rob, wood shavings are bad for a lot of small animals, I changed our hamster from it in a few weeks of getting him when we had him as I read up a lot abut them being bad. I agree that you are best taking him to the vets if it happens again but I would also be tempted to do so anyway just to be on the safe side. It does sounds worrying but I am not experienced with this so not sure.
