The dreaded Panacur!
Sorry to bring up the awkwardness that is regarded as Panacur (I've been reading past threads) but I just wanted to double check something.
Jeeves hasn't been panacured yet and I got some from the vets the other day whilst Tigger was in.
Question 1: 9 day or 28 day course for the prevention of e cunicili and routine worming? Because the vet said 9 days and the woman I adopted him from back in April said 28.
Question 2: Tigger had a 9 day course from the 31st March-8th April this year before Jeeves came along, am I right in thinking she doesn't need to be done again so soon as even though the pack recommended 4 times a year, that this may be regarded as too often?
Thanks all in advance

a 9 day course typically lasts 3 months. And a 28 day course imo is far too much, I would think at that it would do more harm than good.

OMG Panacur now that opens a can of worms! I always find it really confusing and can never get the beggars to take it!

There is some debate whether they need to take it at all.

Well, huh hum!, Maybe I can be usefull here for a change as i have seen a rabbit specialist today - perhaps I can share the wisdom! I was told that many rabbits have E coniculi, and that it kind of lays dormant, then whoosh! It flares up. Regular treatment was not recommended, but only to treat when and if symptoms appear. Rory is having a 28 day dose as he is infected and its severe - so based on that if you want to give it as a preventative measure - I would say the 10 day do dah, one dose a day would be plenty

Obviously though 28 days to treat something is comepletely different but when it isn't necessary though then it is too much. I found when I worm my buns, Paris sits there and loves, I reckon she would have it all in one go.
