Off to the vet at 6 :( U/D now selective eating
Here's me all excited about giving Thumper her new snoozing cage and I come home from work and find a bowl full of food and the filthiest butt ever - and we've had a lot of filthy butts over the years.
She won't even take her favourite mange tout from me!
Please, keep your fingers crossed for us

Re: Off to the vet at 6 :( U/D now selective eating
Hi sorry I should have checked in earlier, been on the phone to my friend for ages.
Hmm, not really sure to be honest. They gave her a shot of pain killers and anti biotics but they weren't able to tell me what's wrong with her.
I've managed to get her to eat a few tiny bits but hardly anything. They want me to drop off a urine sample in the morning.
They said if we can't get to the bottom of this maybe it's the 'end of the road' for her.
I just don't know what to do with her
Ive got some fibreplex but she hates the stuff.

Re: Off to the vet at 6 :( U/D now selective eating
This morning we had some hard poops and she had eaten some of her food. Not all of it but some.
She wasn't keen to eat her breakfast, didn't want pellets or mange tout BUT she ate a bit of apple, she couldn't resist that!!! It's something i don't give her often but so long as I could see she would eat something, I didnt care what it was!!
I dropped the urine sample off this morning but I think we've to wait 24hrs for results (?)
The theory is that it may just be a bladder infection, because she's weeing lots too. The vet thinks if she is sore/uncomfortable with bladder infection, it could be that that is upsetting her tummy.
I hope it's nothing more serious.

Glad her poops are harder - that is a good sign.
Can they give her a drop of pain killer and her started on some abx in the mean time just in case she is uncomfortable?

Re: Off to the vet at 6 :( U/D now selective eating
We have some baytril that we've to give her twice a day, they will just tell us to stop using it if they find no infection from the urine sample.
They gave her a shot of pain killers but weren't keen to give any oral form in case it upset her stomach further.
Hopefully the abx will sort her out.
I just don't understand it, I know she wanted to eat last night but she just wouldn't. Or couldn't.
They had a look at her teeth and said there were a few sharp bits, I reminded them that she had a dental a month ago and they said sometimes they can come back as quick as that. See if I find out it's not been done properly.....

Re: Off to the vet at 6 :( U/D now selective eating
I'm home from work and there are only 5 bits of food left in the bowl! But there are some soft poos Not as bad as yesterday though.
The vets just called and there are no abnormalities in her urine so we've to stop the abx. So we are still none the wiser.
I'm beginning to think maybe it is the new food. I did change her over 10% per day as they advise but I'm thinking, what else could it be
