Re: Off to the vet at 6 :( U/D now selective eating
I'm glad Thumper is at least a little bit better than she was, I'm sure it's a huge relief to see her eating. Such a shame to not know what the problem is. Maybe she was just SO excited about her new bed.

If only bunnies could talk, it would solve all our problems
Glad she's eaten, glad poos are not as soft and happy to hear she doesnt have urinary infection.
Hopefully its just the food changeover, fingers crossed

Re: Off to the vet at 6 :( U/D now selective eating
Thumper is all of a sudden starving and has just grunted at me for the first time in a few days!
Please, please let this be the end of this.
Thank you all for your kind messages, hopefully it'll be good news again tomorrow.

Re: Off to the vet at 6 :( U/D now selective eating
Glad to hear that Thumper has got some of her attitude back! Hopefully she's turning a corner now and will continue to improve. When Oscar was poorly last week the vet told me not to punish myself because with rabbits it can be something really small which makes them have a gut problem - which we all know but you can't help questioning yourself when they are poorly.
Sending lots of vibes for a continued recovery.

Re: Off to the vet at 6 :( U/D now selective eating
Oh I'm sorry to hear Thumper has been off, we found with our buns that had tumours they had good and bad days for eating and some days ate very little, we use to syringe feed Danny as although he was eating it just wasn't enough.

Re: Off to the vet at 6 :( U/D now selective eating
Thanks for the well wishes guys
She's def perked up, took her to my mums earlier and she was being a cheeky monkey!
Empty food bowl this morning, a few bits left when I got home from work but it was promptly munched after I woke her up.
Still getting sticky poos so I've decided I'm going to try mixing her food up. I'm going to swap 10% for the 'old' stuff daily and see what happens.
Thanks again

Re: Off to the vet at 6 :( U/D now selective eating
Hi Jo, she is ok thank you, still a bit slow eating but much much better than she was. We are still seeing the odd soft poo so I am still doing the slow food change - trying to find the right balance for her
Thankfully I am off on holiday this week so my main aim is to get her tummy sorted out before I go back.
Thank you for asking

Re: Off to the vet at 6 :( U/D now selective eating
Oh me! I don't know what I'm going to do with Thumper!
I had come to the conclusion that it was (possibly) the excel mature food that was giving her the soft smelly poos so decided to try swapping the food back.
Last night/this morning we got up to 40% her original food we were changing back to and 60% excel mature.
Both feeds she has picked out and eaten the excel stuff and left the other stuff in th bowl. She clearly has no intention of eating what is left.
I am now lost as to what to do....

What a girl she is! Can you persuade her to eat a bit more hay and see if that bulks her up a bit.

Re: Off to the vet at 6 :( U/D now selective eating
Unfortunately the little sod doesn't eat hay! I think whoever had her before me maybe didn't give her any so she just wasn't in the way of eating it by the time I got her.
She always has a supply, but doesn't eat it.
And you're right! What a girl she is indeed! Think I might poke her in the eye if she keeps this nonsense up

Re: Off to the vet at 6 :( U/D now selective eating
She hadn't been on the excel long had she? Perhaps you should leave the food as it is for a while then she can suit herself. Is there any issues apart from the soft poos - has she been bloating or anything? I guess I am asking whether the problem is you stressing and that her stomach will settle! I am the worst when it comes the panicking at the first sign of change.
