wicker baskets and mats

Wheres the best place to get wicker baskets, mats etc that would be safe for bunnies to chew and run about on. I want to get him more things to grind his teeth on regularly so he never has to go to vet for his teeth (well hopefully never) I know coloured and laquared (sorry spelling) is a no no, but how can you tell if there treated or untreated.

Try 'The Hay Experts' this is where we get our bunny stuff from or Pets@Home sell some wood toys to nibble and chew.

I think, as long as a bun has the correct diet, unlimited amounts of hay and plenty of things to chew, his teeth should be fine. However some buns are just unlucky, and no matter what you do, will need a dental at least once in their life. Some buns need regular dental treatment.

Dolly had all of the above, and still needed a dental last year. She hasnt needed one since, im just keeping my fingers crossed. If the potential cost of dental treatment is a worry for you, I highly reccomend insurance, as once a bun has a dental, no insurance company will cover it.

The hay experts and bunny bazar seem to have a fair amount of "baskety" and wicker things though.

Not many companies do bunny insurance only petplan that I have found, but will do another search see what comes up. I was looking at the chew mats on ebay to see what they are like, do pets at home stock them.

Theres quite a few that insure bunnies now Pets@Home do one, best one for rabbits is PetPlan

Yip only 1 company come up in search petplan, will do it over phone tomorow, dont know his date of birth tho thats only problem so estimated it to start may £9.59 a month. Must admit my westies premium was lower than that.

Bunny premiums do tend to be quite expensive, however they are complicated little creatures and need specialist care when things go wrong - Which seems to be quite often in some cases and theyre just so sensitive and are sadly prone to so many conditions.

Yeah I am going to get the cover, the vet I go to deals with them directly as well so saves me paying out money 1st like have done in past.
