Hay price increase!!!

Went to get a bag of hay and it had gone from £2.99 to £3.99 in one week!!! An increase of 33.33% the shop person said it was because of increased costs in getting the hay to them, errrrrr but hasn't fuel just gone down?!

Have seen bales of hay for £3 where I get their A&P from, just need to work out where to put it!

Anyone elses hay gone up??

Not yet and I hope it dosn't.....dog food went up 8p a can this week and that was enough to shock me but an extra £1 for hay???

Yep, am just so used to the price I didn't listen then questioned it when she gave me a pound less change than I was expecting!!

We pay £4.80 a bale at the moment..it is very nice quality though..
if you have an old single duvet cover take that with you to buy a bale..stops the mess in car..you can also store the hay in it, keeps it together without it getting hot and sweating

We're off to pick up 28 bales today, I'll let you know if our cost has gone up.

dfh i am sure they have gone up.i think i paid £16 for 2 bags last time now it's £18 could be wrong

Well, the hay was to have cost us £2.75 a bale (up by 25p) but we rounded it up to £3 with the provisio that it stays that price till all our 250 are collected Bales are bigger though so we could only get 26 in the van

Im paying £3 a bale at my horse yard and he always has loads in so I bring a couple of bales of hay home for the buns each week. The prices of all animal feed has gone up by so much this year !
