Slugs
Hi everyone, has anyone had any problems with slugs getting into their rabbit hutches? This only seems to happen in damp conditions, I’ve tried wrapping some copper cable around the legs of the hutch as I heard this would stop slugs, but to no avail. Any suggestions!

I used to have the same problem. Usually the little black ones that you only see once they are stuck to your finger. Urghhhh.
Other thing I get in my hutch is earwigs, which I absolutely hate.

Re: Slugs
Our new shed got built on adjustable feet, because of the slope on our patio. I've not seen a slug in there ever and I think they might not go up the threads on the legs.
It's not too hard for someone handy to get some studding and make such things

Re: Slugs
ive been lucky up to now,a few ideas
is your cage against the wall? if it is try and move it a bit further away
what about putting the legs in saucers and putting beer in or salt in,or if your buns have free range, you can get plant pots with no holes in,so buy them and put the legs in them and again put beer or salt in,i have heard they dont like going across broken glass,so you could also try that

Re: Slugs
Salt will disintegrate them on contact. You will need to consider how you will use the salt. Saltwater is not good for your lawn, trees or flowers so if there would be potential runoff if it rained you will need to either contain it or make sure it drains off harmlessly somewhere else.
Salt in red clay garden pots under each leg of the hutch should work. In time the salt should leach into the pot and then the pot itself would deter the slug because the salt residue would kill it immediately.
