Hmmm Dilemma
Well, i am a failed fosterer again. I have a gorgeous bun in my care at mo called Mr Pickles. He is part dutch. He is a dental bun and has been a long stay. I am so sorry for his lonely little face so i thought i could perhaps try a bond with Bella, Ratty and Easter which involves just doing the bond with the first two and Easter will just accept, (i can't put her through too much one on one human contact as is too stressful being a wildie etc). Anyway i started the bond in my bathroom. Bella kicked off once (my seven month old son was assisting and that was his first bunny fight, you shoukd have seen his face!). Anyway all was well and in the end Mr P was snuggled into Bella and i thought all was well. However despite all of this, when they were all returned to the garden, the fighting recommenced and Bella made it quite clear that on behalf of herself and Ratty, they did not need another friend.
So my problem is this, i can't see Mr P being rehomed and i don't want to see him sat their lonely. Now my friend Corrina a has a similar problem, her grouo won't accept one of her failed fosters! Lol! So we could marry the two and they would live here, with Corrina's Florence on loan to me. But should i do this? I really wasn't looking to take on more. Or should i man up and wait til Mr P finds a home?

Re: Hmmm Dilemma
Well I am one of the worse people to ask as I am also a failed fosterer and is one of the reasons we have so many buns now....I just can't give them back.
If it were me I would have bonded with the bun by now and would have to keep him

Re: Hmmm Dilemma
Now would the 2 be more attractive to potential parents as a pair?
Just a thought...

Re: Hmmm Dilemma
We have questioned this. But the worry is that we will then have a pair that won't shift, which Dawn is reluctant to do. Mr P's teeth are exceptionally bad.
Re: Hmmm Dilemma
Oh dear, I really can't say. If you can't take them on, is there potential for Corrina to take on Florence and Mr. P?
I am a big weakling when it comes to bunnies, I am never allowing myself to foster as I know I will keep them all.

Re: Hmmm Dilemma
Corrina is fostering too and has alot of buns so would make more sense to have them at mine.

Re: Hmmm Dilemma
I'd be useless at fostering, I'd keep them all!!
If it feels like its meant to be do it. If you feel you can manage and that its not detrimental to anyone/anything do it.
I'm just a big softie, and want all bunnies to be happy. And we all know he would be very happy with you
What does he look like?

Re: Hmmm Dilemma
Can you afford it Charl? I know you probably can, cos you wouldn't consider it unless you could, but you know what the cost will be.
Aside form that, Its a tricky one. All you can do is try and bond them, and if it goes ok, take it from there. They may be picked up as a pair, if not, then take them on. Sorry, that was such non decisive advce
