Re: Buttons/Controls in threads.
Ahhhh, i see. Thanks for clearing that up Jay It doesnt need to be switched on, obviously. I see exactly where your coming from and i like the forum the way it is and love how its not TOO busy! Its odd that if you choose to have the function switched off that the button is still there though.

Re: Buttons/Controls in threads.
I'm glad you started this thread Sophia! I was wondering what the thanks button did!!
and maysie you do make me laugh!! your not old or stupid, I couldn't work it out till i read the link Sparky posted and then just tried deleteing some bits to see what happened!!
Thanks for the info Jay! it would definatly ruin the forum having a heirachy. we are all always learning!! much better as a group effort, rather than one person being like a teacher!!

I don't actually know why the Thanks Button is there though - most of the optuional functions will only appear if selected by Admin..
Maybe we can have suggestions for what this magic button actually does....
1. Each time someone presses Thanks - a rescue bunny gets rehomed
Re: Buttons/Controls in threads.
I have worked it out.... and coming from someone who is colour blind, I'm quite impressed with myself
When you press 'Thanks' the post you thanked returns as a darker shade of green, indicating that you're very, very grateful
Try it..

crikey Jay!! Bravo!! Top detective skills!!
I had wondered why some posts were a darker shade of green! I just thought it was some sort of decorative randomness!!

Go to a post that you started and every reply there should be a thanks button next to the multi quote/quote buttons!

Jay, this is SO true on Yahoo Answers! You may be a top contributor but you read some of the answers of other top contributors in the other-pet section(That is where they stick our precious bunnies.)and people with that distinction will have given fatal advice and one that is voted on it stays online forever as a Best Answer. Especially irritating is when you answer a question in great detail with references and another 'Top Contributor' gives a recipe for rabbit stew and they get more votes. This means your excellent answer is not accepted. I've got several in voting now that I'm gritting my teeth over. Ans as far as I know there is not a way to contact the person who asked the question to tell them that the advice that was chosen by the voters was harmful.
Here on HH everyone is listened to. There are often differing opinions on things, but everyone shows respect to the other members and after discussion, all we learn. Worst case scenario is that we agree to disagree agreeably. That is what impressed me so much about this forum. Thanks Jay for inviting me!

Thank-you for accepting, and for being such an ambassador for the forum on there - nearly every bunny answer I've seen of yours mentions HH somewhere - we're really grateful and it's nice to be thought of as worth recommending - I knew you'd slot in here really well, and am so pleased you have
I always read you answers on YA with interest, and they're always spot-on I know what you mean about YA though, I too go to great lengths (far too great lengths I think) to explain stuff and provide evidence etc. and then you see something that's cleary wrong being accepted as best answer. If I feel the buns life is in danger, I have been know to e-mail the asker and send relevant links etc. to suggest otherwise
This is the big problem with places like YA, it's about numbers, points and percentages - all of which taps into the need some people have to be important and perceived to be uber knoweldgable, when this can be far from the truth.
Like you Gentl, I just state my case quietly and with conviction, and hope that it's listened to.
I don't respond to questions where I've seen you have - no point
Re: Buttons/Controls in threads.
Jay, you are too kind! Thx!
I email them too if I can find an addy.

Re: Buttons/Controls in threads.
I'm glad to see you've all figured out the original queries, albeit 5 pages later.
Sorry folks, I was away down South for a family matter over the last week and wasn't able to come online. Not that you needed me evidently.
