The pellets should be fed freely to junior buns. I'm confused scratch Should I be doing this until they're a bit older? Because I'm not....

I know that babies are meant to get more food than adults because they have a lot of growing to do. I am sure that someone like Maysie will come along to help out.

To be honest, Humum wishes she'd given me fewer pellets at a young age in the hope I'd eat more hay now. The problem is they were always battling to keep weight on me...

As long as they have loads of hay available and are putting on weight, she'd keep the amount of pellets down. After all, wild baby buns don't get any....

(Just Humum's opinion - me, I would just give them the bag Wink )

I did wonder that myself Sparky and seeing how mad my buns go for the Excel pellets, it might not be a bad thing to limit them. Honestly they are like crack cocaine for buns! Laughing

I used to feed Skye 2 scoops a day. I knew it was just enough as there were always a few left when it was time to fill it up again.

I made sure she had free access until she was 5-6 months.

I never fed freely to Tigger when she was little, I gave her a set amount and that was it. The vet agreed that this was the right thing to do as well.

Most of the feed bags say, feed freely pellets to young rabbits but make sure you monitor their weight. I would give them a set amout. With Grace's babies as they were growing up we use to give them a dish full of pellets and then top it up when it was empty but then again there was five of them.

Thanks for your thoughts Thumbs Up

We actually have the vet tomorrow for their VHD vaccinations so it'll be a good chance to see what he think of their weights.

Junior is a fair bit heavier than Molly, despite me stopping him from eating her pellets!! scratch
