Would rabbit chew astroturf??
We've recently had our lawn re-laid with astroturf/ artificial lawn, because our 3 dogs completely destroyed the grass!
This means my buns have been confined to their shed and the decking area, which is fine but I can't help wishing they could have more space again...but OH would kill me if they started destroying the lawn after we paid over £4000 to have it done!
Do you think they would chew the fake grass or realise t was fake and not bother???

I could have sworn the title was "Would rabbit chew astronaut"
I would say it depends on the buns, if they are general chewers then they could well go at it.

Re: Would rabbit chew astroturf??
Try giving them an alternative. Grow some herbs in pretty pots and/or sow grass in a neat low container. You can just keep it watered and keep sowing new grass as they munch down the old.

Re: Would rabbit chew astroturf??
The new astroturf is much softer than the old stuff so they may be ok. I would expect them to have a little chew though.

Re: Would rabbit chew astroturf??
If they nibble carpet and skirting boards, I don't see why astroturf would be any different - and they don't know it cost £4,000! To them it is green and looks like grass.
