Re: fresh herbs
Don't think they can have chives - aren't they related to onions and buns should not have anything in the onion family (including leeks, garlic etc...).
Who has the bunny herb book that Humum keeps meaning to get from Amazon...?

Re: fresh herbs
i'm thinking of doing a mixture of the herbs with some hay to get them foraging and making it more fun to eat what do you all think will it work or just give them a portion of each to see what they like.

Re: fresh herbs
Yes, do put it in amongst their hay
See if they can do what I do and extract every morsel of herb without allowing any hay at all to pass my lips

Re: fresh herbs
I could have sworn I saw Chives earlier on a list, let me try and find it.
Ah yes this one: http://www.adoptarabbit.org/articles/packet/abcvegi.html
My two point blank refused Basil And Tigger will normally give anything a go!
Their reaction went as far as sniffing the offending item, and then doing a flying leap backwards with shock

Re: fresh herbs
I am not convinced by the Bay on your list Maysie - I thought all laurel family were also poisonous.

Re: fresh herbs
I didn't think chives were a go, thats what confused me.
It is quite frustrating when lists contradict one another.

Mine had that reaction when they ventured near my cup of tea one night. Honestly you would have thought I'd electrocuted Ted!
My pair's particular favourites are basil and parsley.

I just clicked on the nearest herb website on the internet and yes bay leaf is suppose to be poisonous yet I can't find anything on the internet about rabbits and bay leaves, so if anybody finds anything on bay leaves and rabbits I'd like to read it.

Re: fresh herbs
I've just come across a couple of pretty comprehensive guides with pictures - one for good feeding and one for stuff not to feed:
Sparky says nomnomnom
Sparky says do not like
Nothing specific on bay yet - the tendency seems to be not to feed it, but I have come across references to it being used as a herbal remedy for fleas (not sure if it is to get rid of the fleas or to feed them on )
