New combi vaccine? Empty New combi vaccine?

Post by Magoo Fri Apr 27, 2012 9:53 am

Good morning Wave

We have an appointment Sunday for jack's first vaccines. He's having the combi myxi/vhd one. I was just wondering if I should expect different side effects than the old one? I will ask the vet anyway but it's nice to h e a heads up before the appointment.

Also jack is 11 weeks (12 on Sunday but only an approximate) and still small. Is it just as safe as if he was bigger? I guess I'm twitchy because it's a new vaccine and he's so tiny I worry. But I also want it done as soon a possible because obviously him being unprotected is a worry too.

The rwaf are reporting that many of their members have experienced this new jab with no adverse affects.

I've had four bunnies vaccinated with it so far and none have shown any reaction, not even so much as being a little quiet. Good to read the post above that this seems to be the general situation as I have a 7 year old bunny with one kidney who is due his vaccination in a month and I'll admit to being anxious for him.

Good to hear this about the new jab as there was a bit of disquiet when it first appeared.

It's good to know that they are protected.

three of mine so far have had the combi and are all doing fine with no side affects apart from a little quiet for the first hour but put that down to them not liking visits to vets rather than the vaccination. Smile
