Re: list of veg please
It does differ, I noticed, most of it is common sense like nuts, starch etc. and cerials. Charlies had baby corns and he has been fine, no illness or anything its the baby ones not the one with the hard centre, not gave him it for a while right enough, would love to go round looking for dandilion leaves etc but everyone round here is right out with weed killer. So cant get any I know is going to be safe and most of the walks we go on all the dogs widdle all over place so not taking any from there. Going to grow some of my own herbs for them, trying to avoid carrot to often 3 times a week approx, they love there rocket leafs, not to keen on kail, not tried turnup or anything like yet, they were at vets after they had the spring things and I even had a wee bit in a bag for them to feed them to keep there stomachs moving and he didnt say that wasnt safe.

Re: list of veg please
Why does one o them say causes vomitting, rabbits dont vomit. Most of that list I have never heard off, only probs is the wind yesterday has blown alot of leaves in the garden, I cant clear them quick enough this area is covered in trees, you turn your back and the garden is covered again, charlies nibbled since he got here tho and never became ill, we clear them as best we can but its a damn pest council wont do anythign about them till they fall on the bleeding house.

The stuff I buy is specifically for rabbits and small animals, so it must be ok.cheryl'n'bruce'flo wrote:The right twigs are fine.

Re: list of veg please
You have to get the right twigs and the right leaves, also not leaves that have gone all orange etc because of autumn.
Info differs everywhere and it is incredibly frustrating!

Rabbits can have sweetcorn but not the dried ones that you can buy as treats as they can choke bunnies.

Re: list of veg please
Some confusion might be because some of the names of things are different one country to another and also that species of plants also differ and that can make a difference.
Wildies seem to know instinctively what they can and cannot eat safely. Has this ability been bred out of our domestic bunnies? I'm curious.

I've read before that it is, so you can give them something that's no good for them and they'll just chomp away. The amount of information out there is so confusing and differs so much, it's difficult to know you're giving the right things. My problem is that I always go for the same things as I know what he likes so my variety goes out the window (saying that he's decided he no longer likes celery which is pretty annoying because that was a good stable veg to give him!), but Nibbler seems to turn his nose up at a lot of foods. I don't think before we got him he was given much veg, the first time I saw him with a pepper was hilarious. He surprises me that the 1 time I've offered him strawberry he's ran away flicking like I'm insulting him!

That would have been sweet to see. Thumper hadn't had fruits or veggies and the first time he got a bit of apple he didn't know what to do with it. I wish I would have had a video camera! Now he knows the sound of a slice of apple being cut and makes haste to the very edge of the tile to wait!
