Advice please.
I mentioned in another thread that Molly and Junior aren't exactly living in harmony at the moment. I'm not sure what to do with them and I need help
Is it too soon to be putting them back together after Molly's spay? She was done Thursday.
Junior keeps poking his nose under her tummy and it's uncomfortable to watch because I don't know what he is going to do next. I had them out together for a little while this morning and they were going round and round in circles.
What should I do? I might have to go into work tomorrow and don't know if they'd be better left separated until next weekend.
Thanks.

Re: Advice please.
If Junior is putting his nose underneath her and poking her I'd leave them apart for now, she will smell different with the antiseptic that they use and he is no doubt sniffing that. I think if she was done on Thursday it's a bit to early and she will still be healing I'd give them a few more days apart Thumper, but if you are really worried I would give your vet a ring for advice.
Have found this on the Medirabbit website won't put the link as it shows how they do a spay and don't want to upset anyone but says this in the aftercare.
The rabbit should furthermore be confined for 7 to 10 days, and kept separated from other rabbits up to 10 days post-surgery.

Well let her out and just keep your eye on her, I doubt if anyone keeps their bunnies confined for 7-10 days anyway, we keep them in their indoor cage till they are healed or the op site look's good

Re: Advice please.
It's so difficult isn't it. Easter wasn't well after her spay and was seperate foor 3 or 4 days except for some short time together in a small run on the patio so they wouldn't forget each other. They were totally fine with being put back together on day 5. With Hermione I kept her in for 24 hours and then just put her back in the playhouse with the others but made it very easy for her to access the tunnel so she wouldn't have to make a huge leap. I did give her additional pain relief for 2 extra days (had some left over from Easter) and she was fine. Her wound site looked very good.
I guess it depends on the bunny and how they are reacting to each other. I think I have been very very lucky with all 4 does when they were spayed and how easily the two bucks accepted them back into the fold afterwards.
