wormer questions :)
first off, is panacur the best wormer for rabbits?
How many times per year should it be given?
And how much is in a tube? I know its 1 syringe graduation per 2.5kg of bodyweight, to be given on 9 consecutive days.
I was given lapizole by the vet once and Im sure that was for worming?? would this work out better, I'm sure I only had to give this for 5 days??
Also for 8 rabbits, would a different wormer work out cheaper?
Thanks

Re: wormer questions :)
The active ingredient in wormers is fenbendazole. In my experience, Lapizole is cheaper and goes further. It also contains fenbendazole. When i thought the nethies had worms, my vet told me to get some panacur. I asked about lapizole and she said this was fine too. There is somewhere online that you can buy it for £10 with free delivery.

Re: wormer questions :)
Or you can but panacur 10% liquid. You give 0.1ml of liquid per 500g of rabbit. It works out quite cheap.

I have to worm Hughie for a month, i used Panacur paste with Maggie and the Lapizole with Davie. The lapizole works out cheaper, but this 10% liquid, i cant find it. Have you got a link? Do i just give it for the same length of time as i would the other wormers?cheryl'n'bruce'flo wrote:Or you can but panacur 10% liquid. You give 0.1ml of liquid per 500g of rabbit. I was given it my my vet when they had no paste. I prefer it as Bruce is only small and I can give him and accurate dose to his weight. It isn't meat flavoured or anything like that.

Ahh yep, i see what you mean now too. If i had a lot of bunnies to do, i would go for this, but i wont get through it all. I only have the little rescue bun to do. Ive got some Lapizole for 9.99 inc free delivery.

Re: wormer questions :)
I think if you are having to do a long course of wormer with just 1 bun the liquid works out cheaper than the paste. And the bottles I have had have had a decent date span on them.
