Calcium stains

Does anyone know how to remove calcium stains from litter trays? I've not had them that long but the corners are all stained, despite me cleaning the trays twice a day! Molly and Junior pee so much

I've tried scrubbing with all the pet safe stuff I have, hot water etc but it's not working. I'm pretty sure they would come out if I scrape at them with an old knife or something, but to be frank, I can't be arsed I've spend enough time on them already!

Anyone know of an easy way? Or will I just have to buy new ones?

It does work. You might need to let it sit for a few mins but it does work.

I agree. White Vinegar neat.
With mine I often leave it for a bit, give it a good scrub then pour in near boiling water. When it cools enough for me to put my hand in I give it a good scrub again before repeating

I tried this the other day as Nibblers litter tray took a lot of scrubbing and I still had bits left in it. My god white vinegar is amazing! I obviously washed it a lot afterwards, but is there anything you're meant to do to get rid of any residue afterwards?

Yep, white vinegar and another tip is a wooden spatula to scrape if it's badly stained.

There are different strengths of vinegar as well. The acetic acid(CH3COOH) can range
from 4.1 to 6.1 % in what you buy. The label should state the %. Not talking about the 'fancy'
vinegars like the herbal ones, just the plain white stuff. The higher the percent of CH3COOH the
better it works...and the worse it smells. But the strong stuff works quicker so you don't have to
smell it as long! I opt for the strong so I can get it over with!!!
