Im attempting a re-vamp of my hutches!
So as you may know, all 7 of my buns are going away on saturday for a bonding holiday so I will be busy bleaching their shed.
Now there is a triple tier hutch that I am painting at the moment for the pigs to move into.
Iv painted the insides and iv been to B&Q tonight and got some paint for the outside.
Once the buns have gone I will also be painting the 2 huge hutches to compliment the pigs triple hutch...I just hope it turns out okay..Im not known for my DIY skills
I was thinking I could start a thread with pictures of how I get on
Dont know if its that interesting though haha

Re: Im attempting a re-vamp of my hutches!
Aw thanks guys, I wasnt sure if I was the only one to find things like this interesting
Well so far iv paining the inside white so it makes it lots lighter, and iv done one coat of white lilly [I think thats what its called] on the timber frame and iv just done first coat of coneflower blue to the doors. Hopefully will have it finished tomorrow weather permitting!!
This is the hutch before I started..[well when it was new..its been used for nearly approx 1 year so Iv had to scrub it all out before I began the paining]
Should have more photos tomorrow

Thats a lovely hutch, is it 7ft? Is it for the pigs or the buns? Sorry for all the questions! I love 'pimp my hutch' types of threads

Its for the piggies and its only 5 and half foot. I bought it because I wanted it on the back wall of my shed which is only 6ft so thought it better to be safe than sorry lol...it only just fit too!

No, they didnt manage thos ramps at all, they're so narrow and steep
I made 2 new ramps for it soon after I realised
Alot wider and nowhere near as steep

that looks fab, lucky pigs,if they dont go up the ramp still, try putting sides on the ramp like this, mine go up and down the ramp all the time,it fools them in to thinking its a tunnel cant wait to see more

Re: Im attempting a re-vamp of my hutches!
Putting side on is a good plan anyway as multiple piggies tend to push and shove each other on the ramps leading to fall injuries - believe me I know all about it from experience!

Re: Im attempting a re-vamp of my hutches!
It looks lovely Kate, I think painting the inside of the hutch makes such a huge difference to the look of the hutch, it's lighter, cleaner and protects the wood. Lovely colours too, doing a great job there

Re: Im attempting a re-vamp of my hutches!
Iv just ordered all the timber I need from wickes [to make up the rabbits shed]..even though it says next day delivery it is saying 7days because its big and bulky trust me for not looking properly I suppose!!
I hope it all arrives soon so I can get it all done before the buns come home.
Buns are going tonight!
Iv just finished painting the pigs hutch, I just need to put it all back together tomorrow morning and get them moved in before starting to re-vamp the shed
