question about teeth Empty question about teeth

Post by Vince the bunny Sat Sep 08, 2012 9:34 am

When Hermione was spayed the vet said they burred her back teeth, this is waht they told dh when he collected her for me. I have noticed very recently that Hermione is sneezing a bit and under her chin looks a bit wet and soiled. She is in good health otherwise.

Boos eye has cleared up and his head is not tilting anymore. He has what appears to be a cut on his pupil, which I think is what caused his gooey eye so I don't think Boo's eye and Hermiones sneezing and wet chin are related.

I do think Hermione's teeth may be causing a problem. What are other peoples experiences? I am taking Boo back to the vet on Monday for a check up, I amthinking I may take Hermione with me.

A wet chin is a sign of a dental problem and I would get her back to the vet's , I'm worried about the sneezing along with the wet chin as this could be a tooth root problem.

Glad to hear that Boo's eye has cleared up and the head tilt gone that's great news Smile

Sending Vibes for Hermione Bless her xxxxx

Thanks for the help guys, Hermione will be going to the vets on Monday when Boo goes for his eye check up. All their poos seem fine and theya are all eating well. If Hermi does have a tooth problem it will be through bad breeding and not lack of hay and things to chew on. The vet said Boo's teeth were very good and his poos were excellent so it can't be incorrect diet as they all eat the same.
Fingers crossed it's just a simple case of burring twice a year. What are the cost implications of teeth issues? What is a root problem? Is that very serious? Can they just remove the tooth?

I'm glad Boo is better.

Does Hermione have any sign of discharge from her nose, or a wet nose / top lip (i.e. above where any dribble would be)?

I hate to say it but I think the sky is the limit with bad teeth issues. Tooth removal can be done but I think it often depends on which teeth and is usually a last resort. I'm not so sure with tooth roots, as obviously if they do not remove the root the tooth is likely to grow back.

But there is no reason to suspect that Hermi needs anything more than another burring, so try not to worry too much about worst-case scenarios Hugs Hugs Hugs
