Can anyone look after Domino?
I dont think anyone here is local to me at all, but thought id ask in case I have forgotten anybody. I need someone to look after Domino for ten days including Christmas Day. There is no boarding that can have him indoors, so I am stuck. Dont want to take him any further than an hour away if possible.
Im sure nobody can help, but if you can, or even if you know of a boarder that will have indoor buns , let me know. x

If you could trust him on the train, I'm sure he'd be welcome here

Re: Can anyone look after Domino?
Ill check with my O/H see what he says hun, the problem Id have though is that he would have to go in an upstairs bedroom on his own unless he could go outside - but then again, he'd be on his own. But I could have him, make sure he gets cuddles and love and I am very used to bunny meds etc!

I think we are far to many miles away but he is very welcome here as we have indoor boarding
* Can't promise you'd get him back though *

Re: Can anyone look after Domino?
I'm not sure how far away The Rabbit Residence Rescue is from you although I think it's Cambridgeshire-ish? I do know Caroline and her fosterers have sick rescue buns at home at times, and do boarding, so she might be able to help or know someone who can?
Put us up the backup list too, we'll have him with pleasure if you need us to. He could have the office that me and Gizmo have just moved out of so he'd have plenty of human company

Re: Can anyone look after Domino?
I'm Basingstoke but he could come here. I'm all on one level so he'd get lots of attention, he'd be in my office so I could chatter away to him while I'm working.
I won't be offended though if you would rather not.

Re: Can anyone look after Domino?
Thanks everyone all these offers are fantastic! My only worry is that its only for ten days and i dont want to stress him out too much for the sake of ten days. He seems quite settled now, but I just dont know what to do for the best.
We are also moving beginning of January so Mum is saying is it better hes away for maybe 3 weeks - so that we can use the conservatory to store stuff while we are packing and all the noise might stress him. but I cant ask anyone to have him that long! x

Re: Can anyone look after Domino?
Seriously SJ, he can come here for that long. Having three is no different from my two. I'm about the majority of the time, and he would be more than welcome.
Entirely up to you though.

But you can accept any of the offers from people who will happily have him for that long, without a second thought or the feeling you are imposing in any waySarahJane wrote:I cant ask anyone to have him that long! x
Keep us on the backup list, for however long he needs

Hope you find someone to look after the beautiful boy. As others have said if I were closer I'd look after him x

Re: Can anyone look after Domino?
Oh dear. Well between us me and Mum have decided as lovely as you all are, you are just too far away! I dont think Domino could handle the stress of it all. Not sure what to do for the best really. x

Re: Can anyone look after Domino?
Do you have a friend or relative that you'd trust to look after him? That way you could go visit him while you are packing up to move etc?
I know you've probably thought of this already but I have nothing else useful to suggest

Re: Can anyone look after Domino?
Do you think that just being away from you for 10 days might be just as stressful? The best solution I can think of would be someone who lives near you and where you can go and visit him daily so he could still see you.
I don't think that the travelling would be the most stressful part for a bunny like him who is so reliant on you.
Hope you manage to sort something out but it's good that you have a good bit of time to do it.

Re: Can anyone look after Domino?
Me and my mum have decided that while my dad isnt the least bit bunny savvy, its actually better to take the risk and leave him at home, here, with my dad. I dont like the idea of doing it, because he doesnt know whats normal for him and what isnt, but Mum said if we have to come home, we will. Were an hour and a half away, it isnt the end of the world.
Do you all think thats for the best? It seems risky, but my dad would always take him to the vet if he was unsure, and that way hes in his own enviroment, where things are in the same place, not moved etc.

Re: Can anyone look after Domino?
I think it is probably best to keep him in his own environment considering his health. I am assuming that you are not expecting any big changes whilst you are away.

Re: Can anyone look after Domino?
at least
A: domino is in his comfortable surroundings he feels safe in
B: is close to vets that have all his history
C: you can be back at the drop of a hat if needed
so yes is probably best but offer stands if required hun x

Re: Can anyone look after Domino?
Is there anyone bunny savvy locally who could pop in once a day and just have a look at him, spend 15 minutes with him etc? Just thought if there was someone that was more likely to pick up 'poorly' signs quickly it might help you worry less while you are away. (Although there is no reason to suspect he will deteriorate if he is stable before you go.)

Wish we lived nearer to you we would pop in daily and I would be in my element spending a couple of hours with him and we have lots of meds on hand
