Sparky wrote:Is there anyone bunny savvy locally who could pop in once a day and just have a look at him, spend 15 minutes with him etc? Just thought if there was someone that was more likely to pick up 'poorly' signs quickly it might help you worry less while you are away. (Although there is no reason to suspect he will deteriorate if he is stable before you go.)
Theres nobody "bun savvy"......but my best friends lives a 15 minute walk away and if my dad thinks that he doesnt seem 100% she will come down and check on him, shes seen him every weekend since hes been poorly so she would know if something was off.
My cousin is a vet nurse so going to ask her if she knows anybody just incase x

Re: Can anyone look after Domino?
I absolutely agree with you. It's best to keep him in his environment rather than stressing him with a long journey and being away from home which could upset him and provoke him to go backwards.
I'd get a little team on standby just incase your dad isn't sure.

What a complete farce. Nevermind about doing it for anyone else, could he not just do it for you and for a poor little bun?

Re: Can anyone look after Domino?
I kind of understand it partially, we havent got on at all for about 6 months and we barely speak...but... its because of how he doesnt understand my health and just constantly belittles it, and say..he wouldnt ask me when I am in bed at 7pm because im so tired, "would you like any dinner" he just doesnt ask - but then my brother walks downstairs from having a day off because he couldnt be bothered to go to work, and he can go to work ...and he does him dinner.
And it just started to grate on me, and we just kept rowing so in the end i basically ignored him. But..him doing this for me would have made it up to me a lot, and the last few weeks he has said that he is tying to understand so we have been getting on a bit better.
But then he does this. Not sure what will happen now really, I mean we are going to kent so if anyone lives in Kent Ill drop him off

Re: Can anyone look after Domino?
The issue here is not a case of personal problems between you and your dad love, the fact that a bun needs care is an issue on its own. We have taken on a little cat who is homeless and we have defleaded her. It isn;t a case of she isn't our responsibility, she needed help and that is where it ends.
I hope hope something works out for you love.

Re: Can anyone look after Domino?
I have sorted something!
Someone who is a fosterer of the rescue I support has offered to look after him. I have met her at rescue things (when I did that rabbit care talk) and I have her on facebook and she offered, shes really nice and fosters lots of buns but has none over xmas so im really chuffed. He will be indoors in her spare room and she will give him lots of tlc

I am so pleased you have found somewhere for Domino. It sounds as though he'll be in great hands with this lady, and you can now enjoy your break as you deserve

Re: Can anyone look after Domino?
At the end of the day you're his daughter and in your relationship he's the parent and meant to be the adult so he should put that aside to help you nevermind that I have to say I'm 100% with Jo, it's about Domino being cared for...Anywho, that doesn't matter anymore, I'm so pleased for you that it's all sorted so it won't cause any problems and you can spend your christmas with your family
