My set-up and bunny garden
This is my rabbit shed, Daisy the big french lop won't be in it for long, just until I build her another shed because she attacks the other bunnies (that's why there's a solid plastic barrier between the runs, she bites their noses!). At the minute Rocky and Clover are living inside the shed with their hutch open, nibbles and snuffles (on the right) have a hutch attached to a catflap so they can get outside whenever they want. When Daisy moves out Rocky and Clover will move into her hutch with her catflap so they have more room and access outdoors
Next to the shed i've started making a nice bunny garden, it isn't finished yet - still need to finish the fencing, add a small apple tree and paint flowers all over the back fence.
This is before grassing -
After the turf is down -
More recent photo (Daisy is more than twice as big as my other buns, the place is bigger than she makes it look!) -
Can't wait till the fences are secure so they can come out and play

That's a super set up and I love the way you have made a hidey hole in the garden that's brilliant, well done

Re: My set-up and bunny garden
Thanks!
It's a better version of what I made at my last house, I half buried plant pots and laid turf on top. It looked cool for a while but the turf died because there wasn't enough soil underneath.
This new rabbit hill was made using piled up concrete blocks then loads of soil packed on top to shape it, the grass is doing well on it but can't wait for spring when it really starts growing

Re: My set-up and bunny garden
Yeah for this new one the concrete blocks were used to get the basic shape and there's about 10cm of soil on top so the grass can grow properly. It would work with a big plant pot as a base as long as there's enough soil piled on top of it. My plant pots didn't work cos I put no soil on top, just rolled the turf onto it so it started dying off within a week. Needs watering quite a bit for the first few days but it should be fine once it takes to the soil

Re: My set-up and bunny garden
I love both set ups, I wanted something like the old set up for the buns as have no grass, its all mono blocked in the garden but my dogs would probs waste it or the cats dig it up doing their business in it, such a shame.

Re: My set-up and bunny garden
What fantastic ideas!!!! Does the turf live well when sat on top of plant pots or hide boxes?

If there's a good few inches of soil on it then it should, never tried it on hide boxes, it might be hard to get it to grow up the sides unless you slope them a bit
