Can the bunnies go out?
Theres lots of lovely snow, and it would be lovely to let Marley and Dolly have a play in it. They love the tray full of snow i usually give them when its like this, but im off today, so could supervise them in the garden for short while.
Theyve been indoors since October though. Will they be ok if its for no more than half an hour and i make sure i dry them off after? Obviously, if they look cold or miserable ill bring htem straight in.

Re: Can the bunnies go out?
I've heard of people with indoor bunnies letting them out in the snow very briefly and it being fine. Have debated letting my 2 out in the snow before, but never made my mind up fully!

I think im going to let them have a mad dash around for a little bit and bring them back in. They really do love digging and rolling around in it. I think its ok, as long as they dont get too cold, afterall, they have coats, just not winter ones and would get cold after a while.

Re: Can the bunnies go out?
I always gave Thumper the choice I just opened the back door to see if she wanted to go out.
More often than not it was "no thanks"

Well Dolly is sat waiting in the carrier to go downstairs while i fence off a bit of the garden. Marley is hiding in teh box that Father Jack made because he knows Dolly is in the carrier and thinks hes going to the vets I cant get him out, as thers no lid Not even for a Fenugreek crunchy!

They arent daft are they!? I had to sprinkle some herbs in the hay tray and it took him 15 minutes before the temptation became too much They were only out for 15min MAX, as they didnt seem too fussed, but i got some pictures ill upload them in a bit.

He's not daft
Humum lets Jack and Layla out on a weekend, she just makes sure they are not going from a very warm environment to a very cold one, so not if the heating has been on indoors. Although Jack normally only gets halfway down the kitchen, thumps then runs back indoors while Layla is binkying about in the driveway

Re: Can the bunnies go out?
I did upload the photos, but then photobucket crashed and i lost the thread so gave up Ill try again tomorrow or before i go to bed
They seemed to enjoy it a bit, but considering they ahvent really been outside since November and they rarely go in teh front garden so have never seen so much snow, they were a bit nervous Had 10-15 minutes out and then went in the carrier waiting to go back indoors
I think they prefer their box of snow!

Re: Can the bunnies go out?
I've not let mine out yet, it's surprisingly deep here.
I need to get it off the top of the run where it's lad like a blanket. I can imagine I'd let them out and there would be some sort of avalanche.
