Continental bunny
My daughters friend is trying to sell her conti, shes about 2 years old, not had her jags, now 1st time she asked me to find her a home after I refused to take her she expected £150 nearly choked, told her nooo way, she needs to drop price to max £50 with the dog crate she sleeps in (in a shed) my friend offered £25-28 for her without the crate is this reasonable, they are refusing & want £50 for the rabbit alone. The child doesnt want her as shes no longer cute & cuddle but is unwilling to accept offers that I think are very reasonable.

Re: Continental bunny
Rescues are full to bursting and people struggle to give rabbits away. She'll be lucky if she can find her a good home at all, let alone be paid for her. Please tell her not to ever offer her 'free to a good home' as she could never tell what might happen to her - she's probably a bit big for snake food but someone might use her for training hunting dogs.
Ask her 'owner' what she would do if the rabbit got poorly tomorrow and needed vets bills paying? Even putting an animal to sleep is not free. If she wants rid, she ought to take whatever offer of a decent home she gets even if it does not gain her a penny

Re: Continental bunny
Yip totally agree, told her rabbit rescues are struggling most of my bunny friends would go there instead if she wont drop her price or accept what she can get, tbh they wont give her away they want the money. Its same folk with the dog that needs eye opp they cant afford. The bun has never seen a vet, they forget I remember conversations well, trying to say shes had her jags to my friend that called, has she hell. Thats £44 they dont have, (pricey here for the combo jag).

Re: Continental bunny
If I could convince her to take £30 and get the £28 off my friend would to get her out the bloody shed shes in, scattered bike parts, tools, wires from stuff hanging its a death trap.

Re: Continental bunny
Shes a child, with farbto much freedom, went out 2 years ago & came back with a rabbit was the story, but I actualy think that story is bull, pets at home wont sell animals to kids. She gave into the kids demands but novelty wore off, she came home with a kitten few months ago aparantly found in a bin, seriously doubt it. They have 8 cats 2 dogs, 1 conti rabbit & cat fish which are huge, but no money to pay vet bills or routine treatments.

Re: Continental bunny
I think some people learn and some refuse to learn I think the latter applies here but is is so sad really because the child is growing up thinking they get anything they want and when she is grown theres a huge shock coming to her I actually feel sorry for her x

Re: Continental bunny
They are so irresponsible. It angers me so much that people keep getting away with these things.
I hope she finds a good home

Re: Continental bunny
Hi Dizzylyn
maybe you should report them to the RSPCA if they have a dog that needs a op and a rabbit living like that , they may pay them a visit and give them a bit of advice who knows they may hand the rabbit over to them..?
i had a continental which cost me £45 ....i would probably pay the £50 for the rabbit just to save it mind you they will probably just get another one as they sound like that kind of family ............poor thing...
regards
