Eye Specialist vet requried in Kent
Hi All,
Milo has had glucoma in his eye and had x rays etc... he had penicillin for suspected mass behind his eye...
I was told his eyes would stay blue coloured forever but i would like a second opinion as I dont feel like we can know he is okay or not if his eye is still blue.
With penicillin it got better.
I dont have any good rabbit vets now here as one emigrated and the other is on maternity leave.
Have no idea where to turn and who to trust.
I am a RWAF member so have contacted them as well.
Thanks
Karen

Re: Eye Specialist vet requried in Kent
John Chitty is in Andover and in my opinion is AMAZING !!!!
None of my three would be here if it weren't for him, especially Annie who is on some pioneering treatment.
He specialises in Exotics and lectures all over the world.
He is based here
http://antonvets.co.uk/john-chitty.html
If people are travelling to him, he will often do tests etc while you wait ( he will send you off into Andover for a few hours so you can collect same day)
I cannot recommend him highly enough.

They are placing artificial lenses in dogs now. $1,500 per eye!

It is also worth contacting the local rescues and find out who they use.

I also know when you look around online that there is a vets in Maidstone that always seems to be highly recommended.

Im afraid I dont know of one in Kent, but James Haddow specialises in eyes, I dont know how rabbit savvy he is though, but he seemed OK with mine when I first got bunnies - but i didnt ever see him when they had a problem.

He has a great many talent, including eye stuff and comedy being one of the lesser known ones
Yeah, he's orthopaedic, ophthalmic, endoscopies .... He says he likes a challenge. In Artie's case he managed to remove kidney stones by making an incision in the ureter and removing the stone that was stuck there, then reaching up and washing out the other stones that were in the kidney. Absolutely amazing. It turns out the kidney as so damaged it had to come out a month later but that piece of surgery still leaves me in awe.

Awww no no no.. bad experience there.... I took Lily there on a recommendation as she had legs problems and she never made it back to me..... She died of a heart attack after the anthesthia sp? I didnt even get to say goodbye.
Thats why im in knots now with Milo.. he clearly has somethign rong as he's eyes are blue.. we ahve pressure drops ad the the vets says it will be like it for good but when we had another vet (who left) she had him on penicillin and they cleared.. so im covinced that something can be done.
