Myrtle on her 3rd Gotcha Day!
Today is Myrtle's 3rd Gotcha Day!
This is Myrtle at Bath Cats and Dogs Home (she is on the roof of a hutch!). It breaks our hearts
[img][/img]
She had a hard life before she was with us. She was abandoned in a cardboard box on the streets of Trowbridge but luckily she was found with some of her brothers and sisters.
She was adopted by a bad man who kept her locked up in a hutch and he complained that she was aggressive towards him. I think he deserved to get bitten because he kept Myrtle locked up.
She was taken back by Bath Cats and Dogs Home, where we visited one day. After seeing every other rabbit, we finally met Myrtle. She put up a such struggle when the volunteers picked her up but surprisingly settled down quickly in our arms. We think she knew she was about to find her forever home. Over the last 3 years she has gradually come out of her shell, now enjoying life as a free-range house rabbit. Myrtle is a completely different rabbit compared to the poor scared heart broken bun in the first photo. She has so much love to give We love her very much and she has changed our lives forever
This is Myrtle today (she is currently having fun dragging hay all over the carpet ): It's tricky sometimes to get unblurry photos of her!

And from few weeks ago, our happy lop-eared treasure (thinking about angling for noms!):

Happy Gotcha Day, Myrtle
It's amazing to see the change in her. She looked so sad for herself in that first picture, and now she has the "I'm a spoiled bun, how can I cause my huparents to run around after me today?" look on her face
Hats off to you guys for turning this beautiful girlie's life around

Thank you, Hoppers ~ you are all so kind!
It's been a steep learning-curve but Myrtle's been very patient training us to understand how she communicates and making sure we obey her!

Re: Myrtle on her 3rd Gotcha Day!
She is go gorgeous, I keep asking myself how people can do such a thing. I dont think they came out of the same mould as we. It makes me so angry and tearful. I am so glad she is happy now, I just hope she has forgotten all about her bad times although I doubt it.
Hugs
