Vibes for Mojo please
I'm taking Mojo up to the vet at 5pm. He's just not right
His tummy has been off for four days now. In that time he's been on Pro C and hay only, apart from on Tuesday evening where I must have mistaken Willow's poop for his. I gave them half their normal amount of pellets and his tummy just went splat again, and just isn't improving.
He's very quiet and under the weather, and I just think something's up.
The appointment isn't with the bunny savvy vet, so I'm not sure what she can actually do for him. The bunny savvy vet is usually around and about though, so hopefully she can talk to her for advice if she needs it.
Can I have some vibes for my boy though please?

Re: Vibes for Mojo please
Oh no I hope the vet is able to work out what is going on. I am at work so have no bunny books at hand but I do remember that sometimes foraged food such as brambles are good with tummies that are off. If you google Galens Garden I think they have advice for funny tummies and recommend certain dried herbs.

Re: Vibes for Mojo please
Thanks Vanessa
He does seem to be a sensitive boy. I had to switch their nuggets because they upset his tummy, and the slightest bit of veg over what he can take and he is the same way

Re: Vibes for Mojo please
I have lifted this info from another rabbit forum, all the below have been found of benefit in rabbits with sensitive tums.
Bramble (Blackberry) leaves - (Rubus fruticosa). Raspberry (Rubus idaeus) is identical as are the blackberry x raspberry fruits eg tayberry. These can be bought.
Hawthorn species - Crataegus monogyna & Crataegus laevigata leaves & dethorned twigs from their 1st appearance in spring through until late summer. These can be bought.
Some buns prefer other tree leaves eg Hazel, Coryllus avellana - the one with hazel nuts! or Silver Birch, Betulla pendula.
Willow, Salix sps contain salycylates (aspirin like substances) in varying amounts.
There may be some useful info on here too if you click onto the gastrointestinal disorders lecture.

Re: Vibes for Mojo please
Thanks guys. Vanessa, I will check those links out
The vet things something might have upset Mojo's tum or he might just be feeling a bit under the weather and isn't eating his sticky poops rather than is overproducing them.
He's not lost any weight, she had a look at his teeth and they're fine from a quick peek.
He's on a five day course of Fibreplex and if he hasn't perked up by then I have to take him back.
It's a bit of a mystery really
I won't be about much this weekend but will be back on Sunday evening to let you guys know how he's doing xxxxxxxxxx

Re: Vibes for Mojo please
Could he be upset about something? His feelings hurt? Some buns can be
very sensitive about a lot of things...even body image! Get better Mr. Mojo!

Re: Vibes for Mojo please
Oh no I've just seen this is Mojo moulting at all as it could be that they get so poorly and down and depressed.
Otherwise he sounds as if he has eaten something that has upset his tum and I'm sure he will be ok in a few days.
Sending 'Get Well Mojo' Vibes xxxxxxx
I have never ever in all the years of owning bunnies and that's about 32 years now known so many rabbits with tummy problems as I do now. It's actually worrying me. We have never ever had as many tummy problems as we are having now, dirty bottoms and bunnies with tummy ache. Our vet agrees she is seeing more bunnies with tummy problems and bloat than ever before. What is going on

Re: Vibes for Mojo please
Thanks guys!
I'm pleased to report that Mr Mojo is doing much better. His poops are looking almost normal again and he loves his Fibreplex. He licks it off the crunchie before he eats that
It must have been the hopper vibes!

Willow is like this with fresh banana of all things If you give her veg that has touched a bit of fresh banana, no matter how slightly, she will not only turn her nose up but charge down the room snorting like you have tried to feed her poision Weirdo!

Re: Vibes for Mojo please
OMG!!! Molly and Junior go mental for banana!!! They all know their own minds don't they
After a hoo ha to get the Fibreplex in her, Thumper used to spit it out when I wasn't looking. I'd find blobs of it everywhere, but I never actually saw her do it
Then again, she pretty much hated everything apart from mange tout!!

I know. Mo loves it to. Willow looks at him with disgust from the other side of the room when he's munching on it
