can you freeze carrot tops?
This may seem like a stupid question but can you freeze carrot tops to keep them fresh?

No. They will go squishy. Buns shouldn't have frozen food.

Okay , thanks, I did not want to give him them frozen, would have defrosted them , just wanted to know so I could keep them fresh. He enjoys them so did not want them going off fast as it is hard to get them around here but I wont since they go squishy and not good for buns. That is why I like to check with you more experienced Hoppers before going ahead with things I am unsure about.

Re: can you freeze carrot tops?
If you cut the top bit off of the carrot with half an inch of the actual carrot still attached and put it in a saucer of water with the cut side down, they should stay fresh for a while. I think you can put the cut-off carrot tops in a vase of water too, like flowers. As long as they get some water they'll last a while

You could also apply the herb rule - put in a plastic bag, get rid of all the air and seal.

Thanks Saprky will try that and thanks Cheryl
Better than them going off fast and wasting them. I will do this tonight once I have sorted some things out.

We keep ours in the fridge. I bought some on Monday and they're still going strong.

Re: can you freeze carrot tops?
I was going to fridge them but did not know if they would go soggy or not and we have nor room in fridge due to the shopping
I will see if we have room tomorrow, was gonna put them in a vase or bag them like Cheryl suggested but we have neither. I have bad hay fever ( yes we have Timothy hay and I have hay fever , it plays it up but I can cope, just making sure I keep ordering my antihistamine form doctors ), therefore we do not have vases for flowers atc, I only have fakes flowers in the only vase we have and need to get some bags . We are no good on our supplies that way me and Hudad. Will buy a vase from car boot Sunday or in town next week. I will try fridge them for now.
Dougal is that spoilt with everything I forget the other things we may need. I got him some carrot crunchers and alfalfa slims, only tried him on a tiny bit of each and not on the same day and he loves both. I will only give half a cruncher once or twice a week and the alfalfa slims once or twice too. He has his fengugreek cunchies of course, he has been having 1 a dayt his week but cutting it to every other day and he is loving his frsh and dried herbs too and has taken to his water bowl, he does not touch the bottle now much. Been putting ice cubes in the water whilst it is hot.
