Patch and Daisy's trip to the vet Empty Patch and Daisy's trip to the vet

Post by paullp Tue Jul 16, 2013 6:51 pm

Last night Patch and Daisy caught sight of Myrtle when she was out. This made Patch chase Daisy and they had a HUGE bust up. Patch got some fur pulled out from his face and it ripped open the skin Sad

The vet has given him a pain killer injection and we are going to syringe feed him baytril for a week.

When we got home from the vet they still hadn't made up and he kept trying to go for her - I was so worried their bond was broken but at about 1am they made up and he gave her a good ear lick - they are best friends again now.

Please can Patch have some face healing vibes?

Oh Dear Sad  sending lots of 'quick healing' Vibes for Patch xxxxxxxxxx

This sometimes happens when one of a bonded pair sees or can smell another bun near by and it's usually an act of jealousy and sometimes one of the bonded pair can get
hurt, we get it a lot sometimes when we have a bonded pair next to a single bun in boarding and we usually put something up between the pens so they don't see each other
or keep the run away from a single bunny when they are out in the garden. Some buns are ok with it and some are not.

Hope Patch is better soon and Daisy say's sorry to him xxxx

Loads of vibes for Patch Hugs Hugs Hugs Hugs

Well done for persevering with the re-bond Thumbs Up

How far away was Myrtle when they saw her? A lot of ours aren't bothered as long as the bun does not go right up to their territory. Are you able to do something to either keep Myrtle right away while still letting her out, or gradually expose them to her over time?

thanks for the vibes, Patch is doing well and healing.

Myrtle has to go past Patch and Daisy's run to get out but they all seem lot calmer if they are all outside on the grass. Patch and Daisy take up half the garden in a pen surrounded by a thick blue tarp and Myrtle free ranges in the other half.

Myrtle has fun but we used to leave the door open and she could come in and out as she pleased, it is shame she can't do that anymore.
