Please may Patch have some vibes
Patch has been to the vet twice this evening, he started sneezing which I noticed last night so booked him in today. The vet gave him a anti inflammatory injection but there was no sign of breathing difficulty or mucus. The vet said to bring him back if there was any sign of mucus.
Well, as soon as I got back, Patch had another sneezing fit with a big blob of white mucus (which he ate really quickly) as soon as the mucus came out he screamed, so I rushed him back to the vet. He is on 1.7ml of septrin paed anti biotic syringe fed once a day.
Hopefully we have caught any infection early so he will recover but in the mean time can he have some goo respiratory health vibes?

Loads of vibes for Patch - have they checked for any foreign objects up the nose (such as hay or grass seed).

Thanks for the vibes. The vet checked his nose and thought it was clear but Patch seems more irritated by his right nostril. If it is something, hopefully it will clear out soon

Re: Please may Patch have some vibes
Patch had some more sneezing yesterday evening. I have removed all their straw and cleaned out their hutch and run. I have put in their snugglesafes and some fleecy blankets to keep warm in.
He hasn't sneezed today so hopefully it was not an infection but something else irritating him that has gone away. He will have his next dose of septrin at 20.00 and then he will see the vet again for a check up at 18.00.
Thank you so much for all your vibes!

Re: Please may Patch have some vibes
Now, maybe I'm to laid back or oblivious.
Bertie does some sneezing at times and produces white thick matter. He doesn't seem distressed about it. Though I have changed hay and straw too. Is this something that's needs to be addressed?

Re: Please may Patch have some vibes
Patch has been back at the vet for his last sneezing checkup and he is fine, the vet is happy he has no wet nose BUT... he needs to return to the vet in a month as the vet wants to keep an eye on his teeth. He is eating fine but I will cut back on pellets and veg further so that he can eat more hay, he eats loads of hay normally but for the last 2 weeks he hasn't been eating as much with the sneezing/constant rain. We still don't know what it was but I don't think it was infection.
The vet said if there is any mucus then there might be underlying infection, Patch was extremely distressed and clearly in pain at times so I had to do something.

Bless him, I'm glad he seems ok and hope he continues to improve. Top up vibes for Patch
What hay do you give them? I wonder if it is worth trying dust-free for a while...
