Molly Moo has a sore front paw :(
And I think it's pretty sore
I've no idea what she's done. She's not really weight bearing and when she does she's flapping it around a little bit and kicking her back legs out from time to time. But you just can't keep a bunny like her from trying!
She's still eating and nosey and being a little bit cheeky so I'm not at the stage of out of hours vet.
Tomorrow morning I plan to call my vet and ask for some pain killers for her. What should I ask for? Metacam?
Thank you.
Eta... I know when Junior did this a few months we spoke about how the pain killers might make him more likely to put weight on it and slow down recovery but Molly seems in more pain than he was and I don't think I can leave her like this if she's still the same in the morning.

Re: Molly Moo has a sore front paw :(
Which leg is it?
If it is the back have you checked her hocks? Are all nails intact? will she let you feel for any prickles?
Metacam is ideal in most cases but you really need to find the cause of the pain first as once she is drugged up it is going to be much harder.

It's her front left. Watching her the last few minutes I'm wondering if it's her leg and not her paw and I think they're going to want to see her.
I got in big trouble for trying to touch it but so far as I can see all her nails are intact.
I think she's hurt it jumping down from something, or similar. I don't know what it is with the pair of them but they often seem to get a bit of pain in their front legs when they jump down from things. Even from the sofa to the carpet.
It's strange because I never saw Thumper do that in all the years I had her!

I hope she is ok hunni
Yes I think metacam is the way to go, but maybe just enough to take the edge off so that she doesnt do any more harm to it.
Sending nose rubs for her hun x

That's what I was thinking. Just a little bit so she's not so sore and even just until Monday to see how we get on, and if no better take her in. They hate the vet (obviously!) and she'll go mental if they try to touch it. The vet has already called her a twit onceKatieb wrote:I hope she is ok hunni

Aw, poor Molly, I hope she feels better in the morning.
Poppy, being an exuberant sort of bun, seems to have overdone things once or twice and a day or two on a little Metacam has soon seen her back to normal.
Sending fenugreek crunchies for her
