Re: Bilbo's EC thread. UD Going to Camp Nibble: Arrived safely.
I had been worried about these two, especially as they seemed to be losing weight. I have gradually upped their pellets to half a cup each, they also get 1-2 sticks of VetCare Plus Digestive Health Formula each, depending on whether they eat the first one. I got some alfalfa hay to mix in with their normal hay and have been slowly introducing them to forage since they got here. They are probably too young to really be eating veg, but I have been giving them small amounts of parsley, mint and dill too. I wouldnt normally, but they have been ok with it and it seems to be helping. Bilbos excess cecals also seem to be getting better too.
Anyway, for the last 2 weeks they have been gaining weight! I actually felt a little emotional when i put them on the scales this evening. Biblo has gained 50g in the last 7 days and now weighs 829g. Isla is our biggest fatty this week, gaining 66g and now weighing 1036g! Shes exceeded the Kg mark
I have also been in contact with Rainbow Rabbits, and they are on the waiting list as a priority, but Liz is currently full to bursting. I have some piece of mind though, which means I wont worry quite so much about when I go back to uni in October 2015.
Im also considering a hormonal implant for Bilbo, rather than neutering him, but I shall see when my vet thinks at our next visit, hopefully in a few weeks.
For now, its all good! They also finished their panaur on Tuesday night!

Re: Bilbo's EC thread. UD Going to Camp Nibble: Arrived safely.
Hi folks. Sorry for being AWOL, I just have so much going on (not that im actually busy, im just very preoccupied at the moment). I thought I would give you an update on Bilbo and Isla.
I do need to weigh them, I got a bit lazy there as they finished their panacur. They are now 5 months old, however and apart from Bilbo being blind and having his twitch, he is a happy little bun. I see them every day, and dont always appreciate how far they have come, but Lauren came around last weekend and was shocked at how well he is doing. Isla is a happy little girl bun, and reminds me of Skye, as she just binkies all over the place. I even put her on top of her hutch while I spot cleaned it, and instead of jumping down, she just binkied around on top of it!
Obviously having huge issues finding them a suitable home, but Camp Nibble have guarenteed them a place between now and Christmas due to the fact that my health isnt great, and they were rescues in the first place, and I got them out of a bad situation. Im just waiting to find out if Im going to get them neutered, or if Im taking them to Leeds along with the funds to have them done there. I am well aware of how bad the rescue situation is here in the UK, so I intend to fund their neuters, so that hopefully, they will just have to find homes, or in Bilbos case, potentially find a new wifey and stay as a sanctuary bun.
I think thats all there is to update you on, really! xxx

I love seeing them binky, it does my heart good; it sort of skips a beat also. Holly was dong some this morning, twisting and turning. Those buns sound adorable, I really wish I could give them a home. Good luck love.

Re: Bilbo's EC thread. UD Going to Camp Nibble: Arrived safely.
They arrived safely this afternoon. They were nice and settled in the car. They had their hay balls and one of those stickles timothy hay and herb sticks in their carriers. Hannah at Camp Nibble is lovely. Felt a bit odd signing a surrender form for them though! Made me feel a little sad. Im glad they are there though, as this is most deffinitley the best thing for them, Marley, Dolly and myself. They will find a much better home there than what I will be able to find, and they are also indoors now, which will do Bilbo the world of good, hopefully
I have also donated the money to pay for them to be neutered, as I hadnt got around to that part yet.
