Little Boxes On the hillside....
Seb has had us in stiches today - funny boy!! Seb is rather fond of his cardboard boxes and usually loves a good ole' medium size box to play with. He likes to hide up and hop out. These medium boxes are definitely always a favourite. Today, I decided to give him a much larger cardboard box. I carefully cut out a doorway and window and placed it in the run... well you should of seen the reaction.
Seb went into "high alert stealth mode"! Obviously intrigued by the enormity of this particular box, it was a case of approach with caution! His approach consisted of a short sharp movement, followed by a statue like pose! Then another and another... getting closer to this imposter each time! Almost in touching distance of this enemy, a rapid retreat was called and Seb took cover behind his trusty, faithful medium box!
Honestly, this looked hilarious! Such a funny moment! But enough was enough, Seb needed some backup and reassurance. Cabbage to the rescue! A small piece of cabbage placed on the box, and suddenly "big box" seemed much more desirable! After whipping away the cabbage triumphantly, Seb had the upper-hand and new found bravery! He had conquered big box, hopped in, and made it his own!

Re: Little Boxes On the hillside....
I had a similar thing with Daisy the other day.... he has a black mat with his bowls on.... I had put it in the wash and replaced it with a green one.... he did the whole stretching out...sniffing.....stretching some more.... but there was no way he was going to stand on it.... until I put some nuggies in one of the bowls that is. He totally forgot his dislike of green and jumped on and woofed the nuggies down!
I gave him his black one back though x

Re: Little Boxes On the hillside....
Bunnys are such funny little things , timid but brave, shy but very nosy & I'm finding they have lots of attitude!!! Yesterday I was putting his salad bowl in his pen & he hurried over ( he's such a Foodie) he banged into my leg in his haste & I got flicked, every morning he have a petting & grooming session, very often after when he jumps down & I get flicked, the other day Bunny was in his cardboard box very busy redecorating because I had put some shedded paper in it , I needed him to come to his pen, we were going out , so I went closer & called him, he came out of there so fast, he bumped his head on the top of his box & the look I got was , I' m busy what do you what

Born Commandos aren't they. I love watching that approach with caution manoeuvre.
Sounds like Seb will keep you busy, he looks a cheeky boy.

Funny bunnies It always makes me laugh when they 'walk' with their back legs when being cautious.

And the head bob too, I love it when they do the stretch and bob. Dougal used to do it with anything new, cracked me up every time. I started calling him Dougal bobbin.

Re: Little Boxes On the hillside....
Seb is at the vets next week for "the op" as the only thing missing in his life is a wife. Not long before the boy can go a courting! We have a second hutch with run at the ready and a little pen for neutral territory. Read lots of info on bonding and know to take it slowly.... cannot wait!

Whoop yay !
Any idea where to get the girl from? Many rescues will help with the bonding.

Re: Little Boxes On the hillside....
It's all happening here!!!!....just heard that Seb's additional run should arrive Tuesday next week! We had thought about 12ft x 8ft, but decided to order a 12ft x 12ft with 6ft height. It will just squeeze in! We thought the bigger the better! It will be constructed from tannalised wood, galvanised weldmesh and has a thick coroline roof, so buns can stay dry in poor weather. We have already purchased concrete gravel boards for the run to sit on. I think next week will be a busy one!

I think it is so cute when the ears point forward when they hear something. In our house it is usually the rustle of the noms bag.
