Bubbles alone at home
After Bertie's passing the girl was searching for him although she had seen him after he had died.she seemed miserable and sulcking and I knew she is not a bun to be on her own for long.
Whilst I was at work Howard came for a visit and she managed to escape into the hall only to hide behind a wooden box that holds the phone and router. He went in to see Vernon and D'Layla and they made a dash out so we had an unplanned bonding situation.
It didn't go badly they were chasing each other for a minute the sat just watching and Bubbles went back in her room.
Friday night I rearranged the warrens and combined them in one using parts of the runaround system from the garden to set up two separate runs within to give space to meet without possibility to harm. Initially Bubbles was frantic ally running around but again calmed as the evening went on. Last night I groomed them all and whilst sitting on my lap the two girls made contact and were quite friendly to each other.
Vernon grunted at Bubbles but later licked her head.
My hoping is that I may be able to bond them into a trio so please can we ask you all for some bonding vibes?

Re: Bubbles alone at home
I beg this is a bunny conspiracy against myself. Must be!
Since the move on Friday D'Layla is eating, yes eating all greens all pellets not requiring moistening. Refuses tramadol and critical care.
Ok she takes a little longer but hay we have all the time in the world.
Bubbles is calmer and doesn't chew as badly and Vernon well...
What else than two beautiful lop ladies could he ask for?
I will see how it goes tonight. Off tomorrow were I might swap settings. Guided by my feelings it seems ok. It was very different when I attempted to bond the two boys and bubbles into a trio. I had a bad feeling then. Here all sweet.
I'm doing ok Katie, of course I'm sad and miss my boy and occasionally strange feelings creep up and doubts come to mind. Did I act to impulsive when phoning the vet, was it really his time?
My mind tells me that I have done the right thing. My Heart knows so too. It's just the briefing process and I go through all the stages.
May I here say a massive thank you to all hoppers for putting up with me and my extended posts. Surely the bunnies agree:thumb:

Re: Bubbles alone at home
Sounds like it's all going well! Please do keep us posted.
Re the thoughts you're having (and I don't mean to patronise you!) it's perfectly normal. All part of the grieving process. Don't ever doubt anything you did for him. You had his best interests at heart. And he knows this too

Two girls and a male seem ot work better than pairs of males and a female. It sounds promising! Lets hope it continues to go well, they so deserve to be a happy little bunny family!

Re: Bubbles alone at home
They are slowly getting on. Fine for about half an hour then Bubbles will be feisty towards D'Layla. But they all seem to like the new set up.
