Re: D'Layla update 20.01.16
I'm feeling quite guilty having read this. You are the third person I know to be suffering at this time ... a friend as just lost his father, another her bunny, and you have all this to cope with.
I feel guilty because I have my wonderful boy beside me, happy and recovering.
I do understand your hurt though, I lost mother and brother within six months and I know the pain of losing animal family all too well.
It's like freecycle says.... the strength comes to us from somewhere if we are called upon to make that decision... I believe it comes from love, it is the deepest, finest part of love, the strongest and truest .... it won't fail you.

Re: D'Layla update 20.01.16
Thank you all for your support.
I have just given her some pellets as she refuses to eat green( unheard off) and only nibbled a little of the hay during the day.
Bet told me I need to feed high caloric as each fit takes the energy of two meals out of her. Another task to be done. Guess it carrots and banana tonight

Hope she passes a quiet night
I won't tell Henry you said he's famous.... he as a high enough opinion of himself as it is.

Re: D'Layla update 20.01.16
Oh my daring I just want to hug you. There are not the words to express how very sorry I am and how cross I am at life for doing this to you. It certainly puts my problems severely in perspective. What you are doing for her is amazing lovey and neither she nor you should be suffering like this.
Healing and loving vibes in spades.
Hugs

Re: D'Layla update 20.01.16
I m running out of steam.
She is not eating enough and I handffed her with all the noms that there are.
No fitting this morning but just off.
I wnet to work came back and found her carrier/bed covered in c's so was her bottom, feet and lots of poo around her warren. I know she does this when stressed.
Let her downstairs where she runs straight behind the sofa. Staring to do puffing. Reach always before fits but not sitting as such.
Want to go through the bank holidays and will book in with vet for Tuesday hoping blood results are back. Will ask to contact Richard Saunders for opinion.
For now preping rocket, carrot broccolie sweetcorn and apple praying she will eat. She is loosing energy and not eating this amount of c's will be serious. If she eats she will get a dose of diazepam on top of phenobarbital and metacam and I will sleep again on the sofa just right next to her.

Gosh spell check
Try again
Puffing breathing is usually just before she fits
Or maybe it's just me not concentrating on the typing

Update not looking good
I want to keep you posted.
Unfortunatley not good news
She continues to fit despite phenobarbital dose increased double and far over the acceptable dose for medium or long term use.
Bloods are back and her liver function isn't good
Diazepam not recommended in long term use either.
She is eating but not normal and poos are getting smaller
Most of the time she will sit in the corner behind the sofa.
I slept here the last few nights or may it be resting.
Awaiting specialist vet to call back and contacted Ros in hope to get in touch withnRichard Saunders.
Feeling threatened and sad.

Re: D'Layla update 20.01.16
I'm ok
After phone calls to specialist vets and our own I have decided. No further scans, lumber punctures or such for the girl
I'm sure that the liver function is decreased because we give so much phenobarbital .
Specialist vet didn't like the decision who can blame that's how they make their money.
I went down a different route and remembered my roots. Made a belladonna solution for her. Strong c200 and gave that. Next day she was brighter.
Since then I'm reducing the phenobarbital very slowly and have not seen fits or signs of distress ie lots of c's , change in eating.
Another solution prepared for liver function improvement and calm now given for 2 days. And she seems fine.
Plan continue with this and maybe consider different anti convulsive meds to swab her in. Will get together with our vet this week to discuss .dropped phenobarbital from 0.4 - 3.5 twice a day.
Sleeping on the sofa with her in the room means i can monitor as best as possible.
Love this bunny to bits.

Re: D'Layla update 20.01.16
That's good to hear. I used to use a lot of Homoeopathy on myself and my pets. Unfortunately my partner is not into it (all voodoo witchcraft nonsense to him) and i have lost touch with the people and places i used to go to, but do still have a few books.
its good to hear she is doing better, keep up the good work, and fingers crossed for both of you.
much love and to you both from me and my three buns.xx

Re: D'Layla update 20.01.16
Sounds like a case of too many meds increasing her stress etc. Calming herbal treatments are probably more in keeping with a rabbits physical and emotional needs. She's lucky you can help her in this way.
Hope it continues to work.
