They called! He's finally taking the liquid recovery and he's eaten a small amount of brocolli & grass, still no poos because his belly is still too empty Sad
They had tried to refer us but apparently the place is unable to take referrals over this weekend so it will be Tuesday. Typical bank hol weekend. I always forget to ask questions when they call I was just so relieved that he had started to eat something. They're syringe feeding him every 4 hours, or at least attempting to when he gives in.
They're going to keep him in over the weekend it seems but will give me another update in the morning.

Great news.
They always seem to choose weekends to be really poorly (esp Bank Holidays).
Tip: Write your questions and keep them to hand/near phone. It was the only way I remembered to ask them.
Nose rubs and Hugs coming your way.

So they've called this morning and unfortunately he's not eating again and just holding the liquid recovery in his mouth Sad
They say he's critical condition and very lethergic
They are trying to push to find a specialist, they also said they will try putting fluids through his ear and a feeding tube through his nose if he will let him.
I feel like I'm putting him through torture, it's the not knowing what's wrong with him that is frustrating me.

I don't know whether to ask if I can go in and see him but it may be too upsetting Sad x

They managed to get us an appointment with the specialist so he's with them now, they're going to try and stabilise him as he is not well enough to have anything done to him. they say that this lump under his chin could be an abscess but they will have to do further investigation. Plleeeeaassseee little boy get better for me ;( xx

Thank you for all of your well wishes,
Unfortunately today Kobi's breathing had slowed and he was put on oxygen however he was not responding so we made the hard decision to say sweet dreams to our precious bunny. I feel so devastated. I asked if we could go and see him but they wouldn't let us which hurts more, I didn't even get to say goodbye.
He was such a perfect little bunny, he must have missed his Cookie and wanted to be back with her. They were truley the love of each other's little lives that have made a big hole in my heart.

thank you for all of your support and advice it has helped me so much having people on the same wavelength who love their bunnies in the same way xxx

Oh, that's awful.
You have my deepest sympathy. He was such a handsome little chap and he and Cookie were beautiful together.
Your vets should be ashamed not letting you say goodbye, you are the owner, that is your right. Hugs Hugs Hugs Hugs Hugs Hugs Hugs Hugs Hugs

Hi Everyone, thank you so much, I've felt a bit in limbo over the last couple of days, I just love them little bunnies both so much and can't believe they've both been taken away from me in such a short space of time. I had even planned the perfect place for where they were going to live in my new house Sad the only thing I can think to ease the pain a little is that they are both together again, just wish they were with me. My friends don't understand and I find it hard to talk about to them.

I am waiting to hear from the specialist vets today about the next steps, I'm so devasted I didn't get to say goodbye or be there for him, it makes me so sad that he was with strangers and had to live his last few days away from home in a strange place.

Thank you all again for your comments and support, it has really helped and encouraged me to seek further help when I thought I was just being paranoid.

Lots of love xxxxxx

We rabbit owners need to stick to together and support each other.... no one gets the way we feel about our buns, nor understand how intelligent and loving our rabbits are. Centuries of ignorance about rabbits is ingrained in virtually everyone, we are often looked upon as crazy because we have relationships with rabbits but I think we are blessed, we are the chosen few who are Rabbit Folk.
You take care and when you move to your new home perhaps you will find room for another pair of buns in need of love and understanding.
