This is a rabbit that was found as a stray in January and passed around a bit, I saw him advertised on Gumtree in early February and felt a desperate need to get him and offer safe haven to him, until I decided what to do with him next .... fate was rather kind to him from then on:

Thank you. I'm happy beyond belief that he found such a good home, and that I was able to help Cathy so much by sending a cheeky rabbit her way!

I believe being advertised online was actually a good thing for this rabbit. I check Preloved/Gumtree etc for rabbits in need and have recently taken 2 strays and a 7 year old that they had only 9 days to rehome. They get a wide audience and have a better chance of being picked up quickly. It was the description of Archie's circumstances that made me go and get him as he was being kept in temporary accommodation that couldn't be sustained as they had nowhere to keep him. (He'd been passed about a bit and they had tried to find the original owners without success.)

I do agree that BYB churning out baby rabbits/old stock online is bad and escalating the situation.

Oh I saw this on FB - what a happy ending for everyone concerned!

Well done on this rescue, it sounds to me like he is going to love and be loved in return.

It was a bit of an outcome for my first 'rehome', I'm chuffed to bits. I've had a silly grin for a couple of weeks I'm so happy about this.  It's now seven years since I've been taking on rabbits with the intention sometimes of rehoming and always kept them Embarassed   Elijah was supposed to be 'not staying' six years on he's here... Binky and Shadow 'weren't staying' but lived out the rest of their lives here Love ... though I only meant it to be temporary when I took them on.
