Where are we all at with the VHD2 vaccination?
Who's had it? Who hasn't?
I've still had no luck!
But I did find some ladies on FB today who are local and also want it so we are collectively putting pressure on Vets 4 Pets to get it in. My fingers are crossed!

Re: Where are we all at with the VHD2 vaccination?
MJ and Philip had theirs on Monday at the D1ck vet. My own vet is getting it in but they didn't have it yet and I figured as they were going to the vet school anyway I might as well get it out the way.

Mine were done a couple of weeks ago. There is a fb group which lists the vets who have it.

Re: Where are we all at with the VHD2 vaccination?
I decided no more vaccinations or meds for Henry considering his condition and how stressed he gets by the vet coming. Stress with his heart condition is the last thing he needs
I haven't any idea what the VHD2 situation is locally (I'm in the Lincolnshire Wolds).
I hope you all get your buns vaccinated.

This is probably the same group where I found the aforementioned ladies. I went into V4P today and they told me they are not getting it incheryl'n'bruce'flo wrote:Mine were done a couple of weeks ago. There is a fb group which lists the vets who have it.

Have you considered contacting your local press to highlight the problem? 'vets won't vaccinate against new super bug' that sort of thing!

I spoke to a stand in nurse at my vets and she knew nothing about it.
Phoned another rabbit savvy vets and they said its not licensed yet for Scotland so they won't use it, so never asked my own vet yesterday wish I had now since illsecondcreep is just up the road from me and was able to get it.
Where is the vet school you went to?

Its the D1ck vet in Edinburgh I went to, MJ goes there for his eye check ups. My own vet is in Bonnybridge.
There is a map here of vets that have it/are getting it http://rhd2map.ajltech.co.uk/index.php?&p=vaccines
Not many in central scotland :/

I'm sure he will be fine without it as he is an indoor bun isn't he? All mine were indoor and never had vaccs

Every rabbit whether they are indoors or outdoors is at equal risk . Perhaps the risk is lowered ever so slightly by being indoors, but certainly not enough to be safe without vaccinations.

My vet called yesterday to say he had finally got it in. Think he ordered it about 3 weeks ago.
