Sad Farewell: Pauline Rice. Empty Sad Farewell: Pauline Rice.

I first became aware of Pauline in the mid '90's when I was very much into entering/running photo shows to raise money for animal charities. I can't recall exactly how I discovered her and the wonderful set up called The Ark Animal Rescue and Retirement Home but I do remember the long chats we had on the phone about animals and the doings at the Ark. I was very impressed by her devotion to the animals in her care and by her determination to struggle on in the fight to better their lives.

She was a wonderful lady who daily battled on although she was in crippling pain due to arthritis.

We lost touch when she finally retired and her daughter, Sue, took over the running of the sanctuary.

I was sadden to hear yesterday of Pauline's death on the 28th April.

Thank you, Pauline, for the chats, the imparted knowledge, the inspiration and for the love I shared with Henry O'Shaughnessy and now with Reboot.

May The Ark continue for many years to come as your legacy and memorial.

(Anyone who is on Facebook, take a look at the Ark page.)
