Molly and Junior's food/poop diary.
After numerous posts about Junior and his pooping issues, I went to take Molly and Junior downstairs one day about 2 weeks ago to find Molly smeared in soft poop. Not cecals, not diarrhoea - soft poop.
I have NEVER known Molly to have iffy poop.
Can you imagine the utter nightmare I had trying to clean that psycho girl up
It was the final straw. From then on they were on:
A reduced amount of nuggies for breakfast
Alfalfa king hay and fibafirst for tea
Some days a little bit of plantain (depending on how nuts they're driving me!)
A crunchie each at bedtime
Bottled water with pro-c
Hay, hay, hay.
Their poops have been lovely and golden. Still finding Junior's cecals - but the vet said to expect that to be a life long thing now.
Here's where I am at now.
Bottled water is gone - not much of a change in things when I did that.
2 full days later (yesterday) I removed the pro-c.
I have possibly seen an increase in cecals yesterday and today.
They have had a little bit of banana - no noteable reaction.
Now I need to decide what next. Try them with some herbs maybe
I'm logging all this here for future reference

Oh dear, I can imagine love, it would be the same if we had to clean Holly up, she would just flip. Thanks for the journal and I hope the pooping problems are soon gone.

I swear by Protexin Profibre
http://www.animeddirect.co.uk/protexin-profibre-for-rabbits-800g.html?gclid=CMjA_fTRldQCFdTNGwodjzoNoA
Henry loved it and now Reboot is enjoying it. Henry had a scoop full once a day (scoop provided in tub) but I only give Reboot about a teaspoonful with his Burgess in the evening.... he's that much smaller and so far (touch wood) he has no probs.
Hope M & J settle down .... do you have any spare nappies from Noah?

Re: Molly and Junior's food/poop diary.
Not cheap in some respects Jo. But it lasts a long time, there's about ten weeks worth in a tub for Reboot... maybe more.

Don't misunderstand me hunny, it was just an observation. I would pay anything if my bunny needed anything. How is the little monkey?

I agree Jo, not cheap but I mean it's not expensive when you consider how long it lasts. And it's better than powder that you either put in water and they waste no end through not drinking all the water or you sprinkle on their food and a lot ends up on the bottom of the empty dish.
It's the one my vets sell.

Re: Molly and Junior's food/poop diary.
If there is something obvious on their food Woodwench love in the way of medication, it is amazing how they can always single it out. My mother put a pill in one chunk of our doggie's food many years age and sure enough, that was the one she left.

Too true, that's why I like Protexin Profibre, it's in tasty nugget form.

Re: Molly and Junior's food/poop diary.
Thanks for the link
These are the things Amanda mentioned to me on Facebook but I couldn't find it when I went to look them up again.
Will do my homework now I have a link again
Could you imagine me trying to get a nappy on them

Re: Molly and Junior's food/poop diary.
I am definitely seeing more cecals now than I was with the pro-c and bottled water combination.
They are still not getting veg.
They have had a small amount of banana.
They turned their nose up and Noah's apple
During this entire saga, I have had to dab a few bits of watery poop off my carpet from time to time They are always absolutely fine when this happens though. And it's only ever a few small drips. This I find strangest of all!
I think I'm going to put them back on bottled water minus the pro-c and see what happens.
If that doesn't work I will take the bottled water away and give them back the pro-c.
And I'll look into the link above too.

Re: Molly and Junior's food/poop diary.
The Protexin Profibre may help. Have you talked to your vet about some kind of gut bug. It seems that with them both having probs a gut bug of some kind might be responsible.
Hope you get them sorted soon.
