More vibes needed for Mack. U/D 08/12 vets again.

He's just been admitted and is going in for surgery first thing in the morning. Apparently it feels as though it is in the bone .

I must have looked like I was about to burst into tears as the receptionist was reassuring me I could call at anytime if I was worried. I could hardly say well, actually it's because tomorrow is a year to the day one of your vets f****d up killing my first Tri-Dutch and I would rather be anywhere but here.

I really hope he is going to be OK.

oh dear. well is good they have kept him in and will hopefully get it sorted asap. Will be thinking of him and sending vibes in the morning. Try not to think about what happened last year although i know it is hard.

Please try and stay positive, I was the same when Benny had a jaw abscess. Nearly everything I read was negative and the useless vets we used to go to didn't give us any hope either. I have replied to your other post in more detail. Abscesses are awful but they CAN be cured, two of my buns were cured of their nasty abscesses.

I havn't heard anything yet and as he should have been first in surgery (they send them in in the order they arrive and yesterday he was the only one admitted when I left) I assume he has pulled though. I can call them at 2pm.

I have heard that Mackenzie is out of op and doing well. Sooz should be there collecting him now.

I picked Mack up just after half three, unfortunately although Anita had requested to speak to me she had to go on an emergency call out by the time I got there so left a note.

It was an abcess but it dosn't seem to have caused much infection to the bone, it has been opened up and cleaned as have all his incisor cavities. He has a check-up on Friday and is on Metacam and Ceporex for the time being. I am to clean the abcess twice daily and drop some Baytril into it in the morning and pack it with Manuka over night (I managed to get 20 UMF in the end).

He is not a happy little chap and has a real sulk on, wont look at me and wont eat. He is pooing again though.

Hooray for Poos

Well I still have an unhappy rabbit this morning which really isn't like him. He has had additional painrelief and is still huddled on his snuggle safe avoiding food & lexie (she tried to cheer him up & has given up on him now).

I'm at work until 2 so if he hasn't improved by the time I get home I'll call the vets to see if he is allowed some stronger analgesic....it is so, so unlike him not to be eating, he ate within the hour after his incisor removal.

I'm trying to avoid moving onto syringe feeding territory.
