Rory has poorly feet. UD...
What can I try?
I have just soaked his feet then put on some vet powder I got from the pet shop (thought I would try that first)
They arent bleeding but they look very red and dry. I think him being an albino bun doesnt help as I know they have sensitive skin.
I read on here about sudocrem so I will try that next, wondered if anybody had any other ideas to try before the vets.
p.s
They dont seem to bother him, he was happy for me to massage powder in.

Hmmm, is he an indoor bun on carpet? Is it his hocks? I have heard others rub sudocream on and I am sure there is another treatment that I have heard of too. Hopefully someone in the "know" will be along soon.
Vibes for Rory's sore feeties!

Thanks for the vibes. Yes he is on carpet in the house but when he is in his house he pees everywhere, I think this is making his feet worse. For some reason he and Lola have decided that they wont bother with thier tray anymore. Its awful when they arent 100%

i used sudocrem and aloe vera gel on barney's hocks - and made sure it had plenty of time to soak in. but you also need to look at what is causing it - with barney it was one type of carpet and safety flooring - he is now on different carpet and it has cleared up and fur has regrown - had to spend quite a few weeks rubbing cream into his hocks.

Thank Rachel. I am pretty sure it is he weeing habits. I moved their cage a few weeks ago and since they stopped using their tray his feet have become sore. I will go get some sudocrem and try that then.
Thanks again.

When Dusty's feet were looking a bit sore, I put a cheapo blanket over the area of carpet she spent most of her time on. Made the house look awful, but did seem to help her feet a little.

Sudocream is brilliant stuff. When my son was a baby, he had really sensitive skin because he is prone to eczema. The only thing that kept his wee botty well was sudocream.

I use Sudocrem too, and on Pippa's feet I also used to add one of the small round plasters to relieve the pressure. I found it worked well and the plasters used to stay on over the cream but you would need to check you didn't have a bunny who liked to nibble them due to the sweet taste of the gum.
I've also heard keeping the paw fur brushed can help give additional natural padding to the feet...I brush Lexie & Mack's a couple of times a week.

I have been sticking Rory in my washing up bowl every night with a small amount of warm water. He just sits there bless him. I noticed after the first time using the powder there was an improvment so I have done this everynight. His feet are so much better I have not needed to use the cream. I am going to keep doing this till they are back to normal but thanks for all the advice. And Sooz, I will give his feet a good brush when they have healed, thanks for the tip!
